I'm a bit late to the party on this one, as the western port was announced almost a month ago. This appears to be a coming-of-age rpg with some real-time sim-life and visual novel mechanics? It has a lot going on. But I was shocked to find that the game is getting an English dub. Oftentimes western ports of Japanese rpgs don't get English dubs.
Aside from all that, the trailer gives me 13 Sentinels vibes. Not a bad thing.

Well, NL's and PushSquare's reviews are out and...they are not kind. Weirdly enough I do not feel compelled to cancel my preorder. The presentation and the performance of the Switch port were praised. So there's a good chance of this falling into cult classic or awesomely-bad territory for me.

I did cancel my preorder but I have not given up on the game yet. Just want to wait for a sale.

After listening to and reading a few more impressions, I also cancelled my preorder. The aggregate score is in the high 50s and steadily dropping. Lower than Mato Anomalies, which I didn't like. Lower than the Tales of Symhponia remaster. Yadda yadda yadda.
The $70 that were going to this game are going to Street Fighter 6 instead.

@Magician ouch. Well SF6 is getting great reviews. I plan on picking it up Black Friday. Can’t justify the purchase right now with TotK taking all my time and Story of Seasons right after it.
