Hello, I am having a problem with the left joycon were it will randomly disconnect while I'm playing. I alright own multiply joycon so I try 3 joycon and all of them would randomly disconnect. The only other problem with my switch is that the mirco sd card reader doesn't work but I talk about that in a different post. Anyway please send anything you know that could help.

@MakotoYT That can happen with the launch model switch on occasion. I don't know how much better it is with the V2 switch though. Nintendo packed a lot of tech in those little joycons, and it can interfere with their connectivity, thought it shouldn't be a major issue. So, some of that is a known issue. I don't know how to quantify what's severe, though.

When you say disconnect, do you mean the wireless connection when they're detached from the dock? Or do you mean while they're attached to the main screen, like if you're using it in handheld mode?

Cos mine has that second problem. My right joycon will often register as disconnected even when it's attached, so it thinks you've separated it when you haven't, and I've tried several different joycon too.

The problem I think is with the metal connector on the console. I've seen solutions where you open up the console and clean the metal connectors with something like 'contact cleaner', but I haven't actually tried it myself yet.

The bluetooth on the joycons does have quite poor range. The main thing is make sure you have line-of-sight from the joycon to the console. Don't put the console in a TV unit for example, and even just sitting cross-legged and having the joycon obscured by your lap can cause problems.

If as others suggest you mean disconnects while in the rail, then assuming your Switch is out of warranty I highly recommend these guides: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Nintendo+Switch+Left+Joy+Con+Sen...

Only time I've had joycon connection issues is when I'm in handheld. Like, it seems like the joycons are randomly detaching from the system even though they haven't budged.

Yeah, joy cons just suck in general. lol

Well that's probably the same issue as mine then. It's the metal connector that's part of the console that the joycons attach to. You need to clean that.

@MakotoYT

Did you fix it?

@Northwind I totally, stand you, bro. Old toothbrush?

I actually don't understand where/how the contacts work with the joycon/console rails. Is it that flat metal part with arrows on the joycon? Is that where the power connection is?

Edit: Oh, if its cleaning in that narrow crevice at the bottom of the rails, I dont know. Pardon my non-solution.
