Instead of the dock? - Nintendo Switch Forum

Hey guys, absolutely loving the Switch, especially Zelda.

Anyway Im just wondering, for the sake of easier portability could I use a USB-C type dock that is from say Asus, Anker or something along those lines?

Anyway guys, love to hear if anyone has tried anything yet, and good luck gaming on!

i dont own a switch but from what i have read (and i read a lot of gaming news) you can only use the switch on a TV via the official docking station from nintendo. if you wanna charge the battery however you can use any usb type c connector you like (i think) .

I was thinking of the same thing, ive seen somewhere that it only works with the official dock, but would like to see if anyone actually tried it.

The dock has some kind of propietary tech that means the Switch only works with it. Digital Foundry already confirmed third party docks don't work.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.
