@hirokun just curious as to why you feel 343 blew it with halo twice. I get that mcc launched in a really bad state but it has gotten better from what I can tell. What exactly would you want fixed about the game that isn’t already being addressed by their most recent updates? As for the second game I can only assume you are referring to halo 5 campaign because the multiplayer is really good. I get the marketing was misleading but I don’t think the campaign is as bad as some say. If you were actually referring to halo 5 multiplayer what part did 343 blow?

I'm hardcore Halo lore fan. Halo 4 was mediocre at best, and the end miffed me to say the least. Knowing who the Diadact was, Falling off a cliff was pretty stupid. But Halo 5 story was from what I saw, was just wrong. Mount that with a watered down level design and the least combat in a Halo game and you have a single player that was an after thought. Also the idea that a non-spartan 2 could take on a war sharpened Spartan 2 in Mjolnir 6 armor is laughable. Again this is lore stuff. But a huge turn off for myself and many others was that they removed split screen for the entire game. I also didn't like the lootbox system they added to armor pieces. In Halo 3 and Reach it was a sign of your dedication to doing cool stuff in the game, or just the grind. I got Recon in Halo 3, and those memories are some of my best in gaming because it was a challenge to overcome and everyone knew how hard it was to achieve. Likewise in Reach with the skull helmet visor and inclimate weather effect. The gameplay was just too wild with the strange in air ground pound and double jump mechanics and the strange choice to have to make you scramble up ledges that you just barely make the jump for. The little things came together to make a game that scared off the last of the Halo fans who weren't always going to blindly stick to it. I ended up buying the Legendary Edition of the game with the big statue for $50 shipped because the game flopped so hard(yes I wanted the cool statue). There are still people playing Reach because Halo 5 and MCC were THAT bad.

At this point I don't know or care what is going on with Halo 5 or MCC(again unless it comes to gamepass and is %100 fixed and has matchmaking for each game on its own), I just hope they ate their humble pie and will make the new Halo game feel like it did under Bungie.

So Xbox Game pass is like a 'virtual console' of sorts for Microsoft based old gen consoles, Its an interesting idea. I hope Nintendo online service can borrow from this concept then hopefully will eventually give us access to NGC games.

I'd sign up for Microsoft Game Pass tomorrow if I could download Morrowind, Knights of the Old Republic, and Fallout 3 to my Switch and play them. And if this pipe dream were to ever happen, I'd like to play Mario Sunshine in 4k on an Xbox One X.
