@Rando1930 Your game save data is stored on the Switch's internal memory. So, you haven't lost that.

If you lose a physical game, though, it's gone. You'll have to buy a new copy of the game. It doesn't matter if you buy physical or digital, the Switch will automatically use the existing game save data on your console so you can resume your original game.

Best to just go buy another one

If digital you just redownload from the account that purchased the game. No other accounts will work for this. If Physical as mentioned if you lost it no find then you will have to buy a used or new game for it. And the saved game will still be there unless you deleted that and if you did then it's gone.
