I thinking about buying an SD Card for All First Party Switch 1 Games.

I like to know depending if SD Card enough on Black Friday 2025 but I like to know prior buying.

Does anyone knows.

I try searching but no Article of Total Filesize of all First Party Switch 1 Games.

Just look up each games files size individually and add them together.

@SuperMarioMaker0 without going and checking every file size, a bit of quick simple maths suggests it would be pretty tight. Assuming you've got about 900GB useable on a 1TB card (its probably slightly more) and the average file size is around 10GB would give you room for approx 90 games. I found a (outdated) list that said there were 67 new 1st party games on Switch, rising to around 100 if you include remakes/remasters etc.

To be honest, if you've got the cash to buy all 100+ 1st party games, you've probably got the extra cash for a 1.5 or 2TB card to be sure.

Dekudeals.com lists 139 Nintendo-published games in the eShop for the Switch 1. 7 of those are just the NSO library apps for older consoles, and 6 games aren't available to buy anymore, but it still seems there are a well over 100 games available.

@Polvasti Good shout, I hadn't considered using Deku Deals - the list I saw must've been older than I thought. Same applies though - if you've got the cash for all those games, than the difference between a 1TB and larger cards it's not likely to be an issue.

Edit: If you filter out all the Switch 2 games, NSO apps, duplicate games with DLC included etc then its around 115 to 120 according to Deku Deals

I've got just over 90 games on a 1TB card and it's pretty tight.

That said, they're mostly third-party ones and they tend to be a fair bit larger than Nintendo's. Looking at the ones I've got, the average there is probably closer to 5GB, at least assuming that I've got a representative sample of them. It's still close enough that you'd want to work it out properly, I'd think.

Anyway, if you can afford the entire first-party library, you can probably stretch to a 2TB card and leave yourself a bit of headroom. It's not like Nintendo ever sell their games at much of a discount, after all.

I don’t think it should be an issue? Nintendo’s normally really good about compressing their games, so a lot of their games have smaller file sized compared to most major devs. Even finding games bigger than 15gb is extremely rare at least on Switch 1

Everyone so focused on the if nobody's asking the why. Not even considering the cost part of the equation here (it's not impossible OP is donning a three cornered hat) there's basically no chance that you'd ever play all of them. And even if you did have enough free time to play all of them, why would you limit yourself to first party games for one platform?

Like, you find time/space/money for 1/2 Switch but skip entirely stuff like Celeste and Undertale for some reason

A terabyte is A HUGE ammount of space. I’m still getting by on a 512gb card I think.
