Topic: How Would You Rate This Year For the Switch? (2021)

2021 shines for the Nintendo Switch and so more for the sometimes hard to find OLED. Sure it's using the old hardware with some tweaks but then again the pandemic has something to do with it. If not we most likely would see more Switches of v2 flavors put into inventory while they shifted over to the OLED but that 2020 changed everything. And luckily for Nintendo being it's a Hybrid Console that just put it into territory no one imaged it could do it was RISK Nintendo took and the payout was huge by any standards. So now Gaming Industry are talking how great the Switch was but they were the very one that dismissed the Switch console-so you have to wonder how smart are they Gaming Industry people. Consider they dissed the Switch and now Singing praises for it now.

Not great, but not bad…really glad we got Mario Golf, ACNH expansion and Wario Ware.

Year of the switch 2021. and 2022 is even better with the worlds coolest pokemon game comming out at the end of January. Pokémon Legends Arceus. I give 2021 a perfect rating for Switch fans.

I'm still not entirely sold on Arceus. I mean it's a bit of a risky move for a series that tends to play it safe a lot which is nice. But generally I haven't really liked the direction Pokemon has been going for a while now. Going to play a bit of wait and see I think. It could be great, my expectations aren't that high but

A lot of "industry expects" in the gaming media know little to nothing about tech. If you were more into tech it was a a lot more obvious something like the Switch was going to happen. And Nintendo was the most likely company to do it given they had pretty much abandoned the high end since the mid 2000s. The Switch existed before the Switch, what didn't exist was one of the big three (or a new player) putting serious money into software for it

This is the first year I had a Switch, but in terms of the range of games I have played, I would say 2021 has delivered the most consistent bangers from across Nintendo first party and indies. This is followed by probably 2017 and 2019 pretty equally in second place. I am not sure I have played a first party or indie game on the Switch released in either 2020 or 2018, or at least not one I enjoyed enough to remember.

The Switch didn't need 1st games to become what it is and that should tell alot of users what that means.

Overall, like many others here have said, a 7/10, but teeing up for a 10/10 next year. I did very much like Miitopia and BDSP but I don't think I played anything else from this year (save for NSO stuff and the Great Ace Attorney which I won't be playing till next year anyway).
