Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a nintendo switch and am just waiting for delivery. It should be here in a couple days.
In the meantime I've been deciding what games I want. But 2 games I cannot find for sale in the shops or in the nintendo shop.

The titles I'm looking for are:
Alien: Isolation
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Where can I buy these games???

Both of those are digital only, @magick81 .... So, in the eshop!

This is the error it gives me

You cannot purchase this content, because the country associated with your Nintendo Account, or the country associated with your Nintendo Network ID in the case of Wii U or Nintendo 3DS family systems, is not supported on this website.

Oh, right, well, goto the version for your country, @magick81 .... Sorry, I naturally went to the UK one! Google Nintendo eshop or change it at the bottom of the eshop page Those games should be available most places, as far as I know, so that shouldn't be the problem

i thought the switch was supposed to be region free?

magick81

It is, @magick81 ... I've not had cause to import games myself or try buying games on eshops for other countries, though, strangely Others here may know more about that side of things! Or talk to Nintendo about why they set things up that way?

Thanks BruceCM
Ive had a look and they dont even come up in the Australian eshop.
I would love to ask Nintendo about it. Any suggestions on the best way to contact them? I actually thought this forum was run by Nintendo lol

https://www.nintendo.com.au/contact .... Odd, perhaps some here might know why that is! Or others have said about changing there Nintendo account region/ setting up a new profile for that, etc, if you really want to do that

@magick81 The Switch isn’t region-free - it’s just not region locked. You can create multiple accounts in different regions and play games from those all on the same Switch. It’s a bit awkward to set up, though, so unless you’re somewhere with a very limited eShop (China!), Id just stick with your local region.

TBH, I’d just wait till you get your Switch and set it all up on that. There’s no benefit to buying digital titles in advance because you have no Switch to download it to.

Nice, thanks for the tip.
During my research I found this nifty little too at https://savecoins.app/
It will basically compare the prices from all the eshops, so you can change your region to the cheapest eshop and save some money on your purchases.

I just have one question about this. Will I need to swap the region on my account for every title I play? Or do I only need to do it while purchasing the game?

@magick81
I'd highly recommend Deku Deals and ozbargain if you're Australian.

To purchase digital games you have to set up a Nintendo account on a Switch console first. That means you can't buy digital games before you have a Switch

At any time, and without consequence, you can change your account's region to any other country, but won't be able to purchase anything unless you have a PayPal/credit card attached to that region OR buy an eshop card from sites such as playasia or even Target US (for American currency)

Also if you're planning to download Hellblade and Alien Isolation, you'll need a microSD card. Hellblade is over 18GB and Alien Isolation isn't much smaller. They most likely won't fit on the internal storage.
