Topic: Horizon Chase Turbo DLC error

Got this cartridge recently and went to buy the expansions on the eShop. Saw a notice there to buy them in-game if you're playing off cartridge so I fired up the game and attempted to do so. But every time I try, I get an error message. They've been broken at least a week while everything else works like buying other DLC.

Anyone have any advice? I assume the issue's not at my end if I'm able to purchase and download other content, but you never know I suppose.

You sure it's for the right game? DLC error are to contact Nintendo Support for fixes.

The publisher's customer support kindly took care of things for me in a roundabout way. Known issue for the physical version of Horizon Chase that I assume isn't going to be fixed, so I've shifted over to the digital version of the game with their assistance.

Not quite sure why the problem doesn't get rectified (Judging by my searches, DLC has never been able to be acquired by cartridge owners of the game), but their great customer support made things right.

I'm guessing it's because the physical North American release was licensed out and published by PM Studios Inc. rather than by Aquiris Game Studio themselves (They self-published the digital version). Nice that Aquiris made things right when they could've easily used that technicality as a loophole and passed the buck.

The eShop page for Horizon Chase specifically cautions cartridge owners to buy the game's expansion packs in-game rather than off the eShop (The expansions able to be acquired in the eShop are compatible only with the digital version).

And since the developer obviously isn't going to make DLC available to buy in a game's main menu if said DLC isn't even for that game, yes, I'm quite sure that the expansion packs that are supposed to be purchasable/downloadable in-game are for the same game.
