Topic: Hoping for a new support update on the switch

HI,im just curious if nintendo will ever update the switch with a new software supporting a party chat with friends on the switch it self!.new app for streaming at least like twitch or YouTube.an easy way to do it instead on relaying on more equipment.i think is possible if nintendo really think and take its time on thinking about an idea like this,for the fans who love the switch like me,but will like to see not just that i can carry and play my switch any where i can also do features on the road that consoles like xbox ans the ps4 has...if something lime this happen on the switch today,i probably will use my xbox and ps4 way less than usual...

You can always contact NIN support and ask them. They would be the one to know this question better.

@T0N1M0NSTER So far, the reason they don't have that is because Nintendo has skewed toward being family friendly & protecting kids from strangers, and/or potentially inappropriate behavior(even amongst kids themselves if parents aren't around). I'm not saying I agree with the move. If we get a version of party chat, it's likely to be specifically built into the game, like they did with Fortnite. With the way Nintendo's philosophy has been toward consoles, I don't know if they will ever come around to updating the Switch to support party chat like that. I'm not against it, though.

@Woomy_NNYes @T0N1M0NSTER Being fair to Nintendo, I played a lot of Xbox 360 games back in the day and know all too well how much nastiness there is in public parties and public messages. But I wish Nintendo allowed the option to do it and also the ability to limit it via the parental control app. They could block talking with people not on friend's lists, or have a parent approved list.

I love Nintendo and the Switch my favorite console of all time. But sometimes they seriously miss what seem to be obvious, easy solutions that should be an easy win-win.

At this point though, I just use Discord on my phone to talk with my friends while playing.
