Anyone else played this? For me, It's a masterpiece and easily one of the best games I've played this year. It's been compared to other such titles as Journey and Abzu - beautiful games whose narratives are driven by their visuals.
And the artwork is majestic. It's the kind of game where you'll find yourself taking screenshots throughout your play through. The soundtrack is equally impressive.
For the most part, I've used my Switch as a handheld device, but with GRIS, I made an exception, as I wanted to fully flesh out the magnificent visuals and sound on our TV, which is connected to a home theater system.
Highly recommended, and I look forward to what this studio develops in the future.
I'm only suggesting this because the graphical style is quite beautiful - Ubisoft's Child of Light. But gameplay-wise It's different as it has platforming with mild RPG elements thrown in. Very good game though. It's on sale now I think.
These games are a rare breed, but during my play through I checked the eShop and noticed GRIS on the best selling charts, which was nice to see. Clearly there's a demand for such games, so we'll see more in the future. Maybe Nomada will specialize in them.
I really enjoyed Gris, I was worried that it would be pretty but sort of pointless, but I was pleasantly surprised The music is also really good (especially towards the end!). I've only played it twice but it's the kind of game that I like to replay on a rainy night.
I wish there were more games like this too, but they are probably a risk for developers to make because they are so hit or miss...
Flower and Journey are amazing games, definitely worth playing even if they're PlayStation Exclusive. ABZÛ was just okay, it takes so much from Journey and then does it worse, the story is almost identical except that it's underwater. It also crashes right before the credits which kills the immersion for me.
I know they are a bit darker but Limbo and Inside are amazing (and also on Switch!). Inside is definitely the better of the two but both are worth playing, they definitely are as good as Gris
