Has anyone heard or know of if this will become a Switch Physical besides eShop? I like the gameplay but can't be attached 24/7 to my Gaming Desktop when I have a busy home and work schedule. I even msged them on Twitter asking for a Physical Switch release and got no reply back.

@SwitchForce I'm fairly certain the Switch game release is still To Be Announced. I've been under the impression that it's going to be digital only. And... maybe something will be announced at E3.

edit: are there any free to play games that have physical releases? So far, Genshin Impact is free to play on other consoles.

... NL's Genshin page says (switch eshop) implying digital only.

Tetris 99 is the only one I can think of, although that's got a very different approach to free-to-play than Genshin Impact.

Pretty sure Fortnite got a few physical releases with costumes bundled.

Though this probably won’t be the case with Genshin since its paid content is all gacha. Can’t imagine a character or even currency being bundled when so much more can be made from impulse purchases in-game.

Fortnite had a boxed release, but it was only for a bonus code and there was no cartridge inside.

Ah well, that's still good enough for the people who want something on the shelf.

It's an online-only game. I'd be surprised if there was a physical release. Although I suppose we've had physical releases for other online-only games. Fortnite, Apex Legends, Ninjala, Rocket League, etc.

I think the delay for the Switch release is that the base Switch just doesn't handle the game well.

Switch Pro exclusive probably.
