Developers need to give us options to change font size. I can’t even play Darkest Dungeon in portable mode Smdh.

That's a good point - had a quick look into the Switch settings & there doesn't seem to be any Accessibility options for those with impaired (or just aging like me) vision etc., in the UI... this means it's up to the individual developers to include these settings. Unfortunately, if they don't think it will make additional money they often don't.

Maybe in the meantime Hori can make us one of those magnified screen lenses like we used to have for the original Gameboy & Gameboy Advanced?

Lol. At this point I’ll take a magnifying screen accessory...gba style. 😜

Not to be rude, really not, but have you guys tried reading glasses?

@Heavyarms55 Not taking it as rude at all, that's a valid point that I'd considered when writing my initial post. There are a few reasons why changing the font size would be more useful... the main one being carrying around a pair of glasses just incase you want to dip into a specific game on the train. Personally my eyesight is good & I can read books, monitors & don't wear glasses at all, but there is the odd game where the text is small on a TV but hasn't been adjusted for a handheld screen (I call it "accidental micro-dot").

That's just my opinion of course!

Reading glasses help but not enough. Some games are still hard to read.

@DanteSolablood My eyes blow at a distance, (I cannot read the big E on the chart at the eye doctor) but for close up I have no real issue. Perhaps the game in question is particularly bad, I don't know.

@faint Xenoblade X WAS particularly bad with this issue and a lot of people have complained about it. lol

@DanteSolablood. I think your idea of having this option built into the switch itself is fantastic.

This is indeed a very real problem for me as a handheld only player. Some games have text that is actually unreadable on the small screen.

No need for an option. They should just make all font comic sans at 7pt. That's all you really need anyways. Industry standard.

I never had reading issues with reading on Nintendo games, aside from playing on the living room TV but that's just because my glasses are old. I need new ones.

+1, accessibility options like the ability to increase font size are really important on a small screen

@Heavyarms55 Yeah, some are really bad sometimes. This Is The Police is super tiny in handheld

I would love this option... even with my glasses I can't read the text well in handheld mode

To do so would require code rewrite it's not so simple as those make it out to be. Yes readability is good to have but there comes at a cost to the game development. No one since the release of the 2DS/3DS never mentioned or I didn't hear much about the small screen they use nor about Vita small screen. So this to me is non-starter to be had. As for smartphone you can expand using finger gesture but that isn't the same type of device built for gaming performance.

I second the motion to change font size. Doom, Skyrim, Diablo, Wolfenstein are almost unplayable on a smaller screen (like in my Comic book / gaming room). Nintendo games are no problem cause they use to have bigger font size

I would say then time to Dock and play but to be portable gaming on small screen there was a sacrifice to be had and that was small txt as a end result.
