Both the standard and anniversary editions are now unavailable (not even to wishlist) on the Murican S-E Store. Considering how quickly preorders sold through I'd like to imagine a second print is going to happen. The last S-E Store exclusive I bought, Lost Sphear, got a second print. And I imagine the demand wasn't the same for Lost Sphear as it is for the Pixel Remaster Collection.

@Bunkerneath Correct. However for comparison, I believe Oninaki was a UK S-E Store exclusive. Unfortunately I don't know how well those 5k copies for Oninaki sold or whether or not it received a second print?
Forgive me if this has been Answered already but will these be getting a physical release on switch? I hear the price is a bit insane in the membrain but if i could get all six on a physical cart i probably wouldn't care about the price. These look like possibly the best versions of the original 6 games. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@Truegamer79 Yes they did, though it was a Square Enix store exclusive, the preorders sold out within an hour of the announcement and the choice was between a standard edition (70€, I believe? Someone might have to correct me on that one) and a ridiculously expensive collector's edition (295€? Again, not sure), at least, too expensive for me.
Hopefully they get a sizeable second print and a full retail release considering how beloved those games are. Would be a bummer if they didn't, considering a lot of FF games did get physical releases on switch :/
@GreenTea
Yeah this collection should in no way be limited. Square would make a killing in sales! I don't know what the hell think were thinking in the first place putting these on mobile instead of consoles.
I can see the CE selling out but the standard for preorder? This is just a scam to do this-they should have a time limited for open before preorder closes. This would insure those scalpers don't scalp buyers and registered users are whom they are so one per person until the preorder deadline.
Make it sell out right away to convey its “limited” and reinforce it by news articles reporting it being sold out in an hour. This makes people want it more.
Then closer to release open up the real preorders without limit, and capitalize on everyone rushing to order one in fear of missing out.
It may well truly prove “limited” but that only means a set amount is predetermined. Much like Mario 3D All Stars was “limited” to oh, ya know, TEN MILLION COPIES.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
On one hand. plenty of things are announced as "limited edition" and then are never seen again after the initial print run.
On the other hand, these companies know how to exploit FOMO. I recall S-E mentioning that the Collection of Mana physical on NS would be a limited print run, but... uh... the game is still in stock across the internet. Frequently on sale, too.
I wonder why Final Fantasy Mystic Quests keeps getting ignored for a re-release?
Because it's not a true Final Fantasy game. It was made to introduce Western audiences to JRPGs. It's kind like how Final Fantasy Adventure is not a true Final Fantasy game but rather part of the Mana series and only has the Final Fantasy name for marketing purposes outside of Japan.

@Magician Pretty much. Alot of people do have nostalgia for it which I can understand, but from my understanding it was Square's B-team that made it as well which is one reason they don't consider it part of the Final Fantasy series.

Received shipping notification from the S-E store over the weekend. The CE should be in my hands on Thursday. I haven't played VI in...twenty years? I'm eager to dive back in.
