So I have finally bought the Legend of Zelda BOW, and it didn’t work...I was lost 🤬...

With the cartridge inserted I get the message

‘Failed to start software, try again from the home menu’

the game appeared to be on v1.5 and would not let me update, but when I removed the cartridge it went to v1.0 and needed updating after that the game load/ without fail.

Anyway long story short I think this was due to Nintendo Online and the fact games need to be on latest version to start now to protect save corruption etc.

First here is the fix for anyone having this problem!

Second do you think this is just a oversight or a problem with the cartridge still? As the cart thinks it v1.5 and I couldn’t update until removing it???

Started working after removing the cardridge and updating the game.

I just thought it was starnge that with the cartridge in it already thought the update was downloaded.

@mince0 and could be your NSW needed its own update as well. Since no one is there to see the issue happen that is hard to narrow down the problem.

Uninstall and reinstall it. I had the same problem, and that fixed it. You will not lose any progress of any sort.

Basically the problem was that with the game inserted it appeared to be on patch 1.50 and no update needed(after manual check) but after removing game cart it was version 1.00 and would then update to 1.50 @SwitchForce @Raffi_fuzza

After this game launched like normal.
