Every time I try and make a purchase in the eshop using my card I get a piece of red text that reads "please verify the information you have entered" even though the same card works for a different account on the same switch. Help would be greatly appreciated
Don't know if it's the problem, but if your account is set to a different region and you haven't authorised online purchases from abroad with that card...? I'm just brainstorming, so don't take it as gospel. ^-^ If the account is set to your region, then I have no clue.
Having the same problem. No idea what's going on. The other day I bought a game, no problems, it went through; next game I tried, I got the same message. Plenty of funds in the card, so no worries about that. Used the card plenty of times. Stumped.
@bixente You could try using the website as a workaround. You can purchase games from the 'Games Details' page of the Nintendo Website. Link in my sig has prices for all the games + links to that page for each.
Otherwise I'd shoot off an email to the big N.

I've had the same problem for a month or two now. Card worked fine from launch until recently, now it won't work on either Switch. Frustrating, but I hate calling NOA (never really helped me) so I just use it as a deterrent from impulse purchases I guess...
what card are you talking about - credit card? call the credit card bank - maybe they froze your account due to unusual activity - happened to me a lot when buying games online outside of Germany. One 5min call and it worked again.
