Topic: The most desired Switch ports?

Just give me F-Zero GX and I'm happy. I've accepted I'll never get a new one, so a remaster of that would have to do.

I was gutted that Sega's AGES range ended before I got ports of Power Drift and OutRunners.

@MarioBrickLayer Why do you think Micosoft need to buy SEGA for that to happen though? If SEGA want to dump a bunch on the old games on the eshop they can without Microsoft's help.

I'm not saying they need to, but SEGA support for classic games on the switch has been limited to the mega drive collection hasn't it? And that was a few years back now. If Microsoft owned SEGA they would want to leverage the acquisition as much as possible.

I imagine if MS acquired Sega it wouldn't be much different than the Bethesda aquisition. The legacy games would be brought anywhere and everywhere. But newly developed games would be exclusive to the MS platform, Game Pass.

@Magician I think you're right. SEGA have so many interesting franchises which could be developed. If this ever happened, i'd hope Microsoft did more than what SEGA has been doing.

Take two of the games @jump mentioned, Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi. I could see those games being developed as one, so you have one virtual city where you can play Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio and maybe the two games intersect in part.

I’d love to see both Portal games make their way to Switch. From Nintendo’s backlog, I would love an Advance Wars collection from both GBA and DS as well as the Yoshi’s Woolly World from Wii U. Those are all amazing games that have many hours of fun.

I don't know if I'm late to the convo, but I would love more "maker" games on Switch. We already have RPG Maker MV, why not MZ too? Or Pixel Game Maker MV? Visual Novel Maker, SRPG Studio, and Smile Game Builder?

I'd really like to get Horizon Zero Dawn actually, I've heard really good stuff about it and I'd like a chance to play it sometime. I also would really want Fallen Order for the same reasons, I know those don't have that high of a chance of being ported but I only have a Switch so I gotta just hope.

Games I'm playing right now:
Tears of the Kingdom - Switch

Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4
Ace Attorney Trilogy - Switch

@MarioBrickLayer Whilst those are both actiony games in bright worlds Crazy Taxi edges more to a Californian/Americana vibe with a rock/punk soundtrack to get your adrenaline going whilst Jet Set Radio was more of a cool cartoon with a mish pop/electro/fun/hip hp. Also the levels need to be built differently with Crazy Taxi focusing on roads and slopes with wider spaces etc and Jet Set Radio needing closer areas with walls to graffiti open, rails to grind etc.

If either of those soundtracks change the games are very different to me so for that reason alone I can’t see a shared city with them.

@jump you're right, but I think you could make it work, you're in your taxi and the radio station is playing the sound track or you put on your headphones for jet set radio.

The art style would be the challenge to overcome, could you have one art style which fitted both games.

A well designed virtual city could support both games, maybe more, you could have an LA Noire style game where in some levels you work in traffic and chase down crazy taxis or you're on foot patrol and after the skaters. Each would have to be a game in its own right, bit share the assets of the city and take advantage of the shared world by having some crossover missons.

I've always wanted to play the Mother trilogy (or just the last 2). Doshin the Giant looks fun, and Slime Rancher seems like a perfect fit. Outer Wilds was my number one choice, though, can't wait for that- hope it runs well.

The only games I've already played a lot but would buy again on Switch are Metroid Prime Trilogy, Beyond Good and Evil and the first couple of Halo games. I guess also Rare Replay if that ever happened, but I don't own most of the games in that collection so I'm not sure if it counts.

There's probably a few more, but only if I don't own them anymore. You think they would ever re-release the GBA Astro Boy game? That'd be nice...

Which games will absolutely never happen, is it just Sony Exclusives? If the gamepass rumours are true there will be access to XBOX exclusives plus AAA games the which can't support natively.

I can't think of anything else?

Figure I'd rattle off an updated list of my top "it's on PS4, why not Switch?" games.

Guilty Gear Strive (Arcsystemworks got us Dragon Ball Fighter Z on Switch, so hopes are high.)
Sleeping Dogs (The best open world game not enough people played.)
Journey (I'm not sure if Sony maintains console exclusivity for thatgamecompany's best game?)
DJMax Respect (The most challenging series of music/rhythm games you'd ever play.)
Anything developed by Vanillaware (For the love of God, Atlus. Please!)

@Magician I'd love to see...

1. GTA 3D trilogy
2. GTA 4 and 5
3. Mass Effect Trilogy
4. Red Dead Redemption
5. The new Settlers game
6. A Fallout game, New Vegas?
7. An NHL game

@Magician If we get 3 from my list I would be surprised!

I don't know much about Sleeping Dogs.

Probably too many to mention, but a Sega Rally Collection.
