Mildly shocked nobody had begun a thread for this. I won't sugarcoat it, this release feels like Capcom testing how thirsty the community might be for a new Darkstalkers game. They're giving the fans the entire collection, both digitally and physically, plus a smattering of classics. Fans of the fighting genre need to show up on day one for this.

My money's down on the bundle exclusive to Japan that comes packed with a copy of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. I'd appreciate it if you considered grabbing a copy of CFC as well.

Maybe if fans pony up for this release Capcom will consider giving us a current-gen port of MvC2?

I'm considering getting this. Never played a fighting game before in my life apart from Smash but have always been an avid spectator of the medium and this collection looks fantastic. At the moment, it's a toss up between this and the Street Fighter collection that came out around the Switch's beginning (specifically the one with SF3, I really want to play that one).

@Magician I will definitely be there day 1 with a physical copy. I really enjoyed the 30th Anniversary Collection and still play it pretty regularly. The best part was that I got to play Alpha 2 for the 1st time and now it is one of my favorite SF games. I'm excited to try more Darkstalkers games and love me some Puzzle Fighter.
@Fizza I would definitely recommend the Anniversary Collection. It goes on sale from time to time, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike is a phenomenal fighting game.

As usual I will be getting a physical and digital copy. Haven’t played darkstalkers in years since my PS3 is in a box somewhere. Very excited for red earth.

I would LOSE it if capcom did a (good) Vs collection. Like an ambulance would have to be called.

Yeah, this collection looks like a golden value. I plan on getting it on Switch at some point.
I'm not too sure about a VS. Collection, though. I know Capcom's aware of the demand for it, & Digital Eclipse said they really want to do it, but dealing with Disney/Marvel's probably frustrating for this kind of stuff, especially for something that'd be like 4/5 games, instead of just 1.

I think if we do get a VS. collection anytime soon, it'll probably something like a Capcom VS SNK Collection with CVS1 Pro, CVS2, & SVC Chaos, namely since Capcom & SNK have been crossing over with each other more frequently, most recently in KOF All Star.

I'd include the Neo Geo Pocket games, but SNK already have them in their own compilation, and I know there's probably nothing really stopping them from putting them in both, but they most likely don't want to have too many repeated games in these compilations.

There is Hyper SF2 in Fighting Collection, but that's technically a different game since Super Turbo only has the Super characters that can be selected over the Super Turbo characters, where in Hyper SF2 can select characters that are from earlier revisions, giving it something that isn't in the 30th Anniversary Collection.

Yeah, I'm more excited about this than Street Fighter 6. Never did play Red Earth before.
Hoping if it does well enough we'll see a 3D collection with the Power Stones, Star Gladiator, Tech Romancer, and Rival Schools (though I've heard there is a weird legal issue that would make this one difficult). Capcom seems reluctant to revisit it's early 3D stuff though.

While I'm excited to play all the darkstalkers again and to play red earth for the first time it saddens me that no one is talking about the real star of the show: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo!

@ProPAIN I'm still not sure if I'll buy this as I'm not seriously into fighting games and have to watch the budget. But if I do, the number one draw is Puzzle Fighter. I love that game. Pretty much the only GBA game I still play from time to time. Having it on the Switch would be so good.

I'm really interested in this. I've long neglected non-Smash fighting games the past decade at least, and a solid collection of different games (well half are different, I dunno if all five Darkstalkers will be worth my time individually all that much) is a solid excuse to try some without worry I'll be burned by buying one game that doesn't do anything for me.

It would be great if we could get the best version of Alpha 3, Alpha 3 Upper. The vanilla roster of Alpha 3s original release was sorely lacking.

ProPAIN

@GameOtaku I wonder if the reason we didn't get upper as part of the SF collection is due to it running on Naomi as opposed to the CPS II and there might be some legal block to them emulating it. Still doesn't explain why SFA2 gold wasn't in the collection though. In a better universe Capcom would release a 2.0 patch for 30th anniversary with those two games and training and online for the games that didn't get it.

@JasmineDragon how did a miss a pocket fighter port to the GBA; I never knew (or perhaps forgot) that existed.

Much to my delight (and perhaps the dismay of others), I was glad to see that preorders for the double pack exclusive to Japan have closed on Play-Asia and Amazon JP. I wonder if the print run was just low or if the response was greater than anticipated? Either way, hopefully it sends a message to Capcom, clearly their fans would like to see more releases such as this. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing say...a Powerstone Collection.

I'm sure that PSP code is laying around somewhere.
