Hey, guys! So here's a fun idea I had for a thread. I love the speculation around rumors and leaks, as they help pass the time between major game announcements. Even the most outlandish leaks are exciting to think about, as it gets my mind buzzing about what could be. Even if a leak I really wanted to be true amounts to nothing, well...at least for a couple months I had hope we were getting a classic Paper Mario, and that's something...right?

I've always wanted to make my own fake leak and put it out on some random message board, just to see whether I could make it convincing and start gaining traction--maybe even get a couple gaming journalists to cover it in an article. But I know that a lot of people don't take them as lightly as I do, and I really don't want to upset anybody or get a large-scale internet mob chasing me with pitchforks and torches.

So, I thought this would be a fun, safe place to come up with the most convincing--or the most hilarious--leaks you can! Really let your imagination go nuts! If you want, you can even give yourself a backstory about how you're privy to this juicy, exclusive information. Do you have an uncle who works at Nintendo? Are you a beta tester who managed to snag a few low-res screenshots from your phone? Let us know your imaginary scenario below! Also, if you want, you can try to pass these off as legitimate leaks to your friends, if you feel pretty confident they'll take the joke likely. I'd love to hear if my nuggets of "insider" information actually tricked anybody, haha!

I figured this would be a fun, lighthearted way to channel my burning desire to speculate and come up with a credible "leak" without actually offending anybody. I look forward to seeing what everybody comes up with, and I'll be posting my hottest of scoops shortly!

Okay, so here is the first thing I have to share with you guys. As you know, the Pokémon Company just recently announced their next Pokémon Presents stream. In it, they'll show off some paid DLC for Legends Arceus (which will be included in the NSO Expansion at no extra cost). I've also been told we'll get our first look at Detective Pikachu 2--which will come bundled with an HD remaster of the first game--as well as a new Mystery Dungeon game, though my source is a bit iffy on that last one. They aren't sure if it's an entirely new Mystery Dungeon game, or if it's another remake; it will most likely be the latter and is re-using a considerable amount of assets from Rescue Team DX.

There's also a good chance we'll finally get a release date announced for Pokémon Sleep, as well as another QoL smartphone game called "Pokémon Eat" where you log your daily meals and are encouraged to reach dietary milestones. Both games will be compatible with Legends Arceus in some way. It looks to just be low-level upgrades like giving your party members some extra EXP as well as some extra items in your inventory like berries. (So basically like the kind of reward you would get for scanning an amiibo in other Nintendo games.

Nothing super exciting for Legends Arceus, but these apps will also be compatible with Gen 9, which will have a robust "PokéPark" mode, which is essentially a petting zoo for Pokémon where your trainer can play games with them. You can feed your Pokémon like on Sword/Shield, but the foods you have to choose from are based on the foods you eat in real-life. Using Pokémon Eat, which takes advantage of Niantic's AR technology, you snap daily pictures of your meals before you eat them. Certain healthy meals (curry, veggie burgers, etc.) will net you points and can then be transferred to your PokéPark. Think along the lines of Chibi-Robo: Photo Finder combined with those pictures of someone's dinner plate you always see on social media.

Stay tuned for part 2, where I fill you guys in on Gen 9!

Okay, now for the real juicy stuff: While no gameplay will be shown, the Pokémon Presents will end with Mr. Ishihara teasing that Gen 9 is in active development, with more news coming later this year. This will be accompanied with a silhouetted image of a new legendary Pokémon that resembles a cherubim. A fall Pokémon Presents in around September/October will finally blow the lid off this title.

The games will be referred to as Pokémon Heaven and Hell in Japan, though Nintendo is still trying to brainstorm a name that is more appropriate for international audiences. They feel that "Hell" is a strong word that may not resonate with audiences in the Americas in particular, and they don't want to damage their brand image as a family-friendly entity. Some names currently being tossed around include "Pokémon Angels" and "Pokémon Demons," as well as "Pokémon Paradise" and "Pokémon Underworld."

The game will be set in ancient Greece, so expect lots of references to mythology and gods/demigods. The new legendaries for this game will resemble and angel and a devil. Expect other new Pokémon such as one with snakes for hair--a clear homage to Medusa--a cyclops Pokémon, an electric-type hammer Pokémon (Zeus), and more. While a region reminiscent of Greece is the primary location of the game, it will actually span multiple regions, including one resembling Egypt. Still sticking with the mythology theme, here you will encounter new Pokémon that resembles Anubis as well as a Sphynx.

Your three starter Pokémon will be Phynnix (a fire Pokémon resembling a Phoenix, which can revive itself after fainting), Neptoo (a water Pokémon that can evolve to use a trident like Poseiden), and Celieju, (a grass Pokémon that wears a toga and a wreath on its head like Julius Caesar).

The game will be launching Holiday, 2023 alongside a special edition Nintendo Switch OLED. Game Freak is not yet considering any DLC or a third game, though there have been jokes around the office about such a thing being called "Pokémon Purgatory." Whether this idea manifests into anything or not remains to be seen, but I'll keep you updated.

I'd be interested to know how I did, as I honestly know very little about the Pokémon franchise, lol. I own X, Let's Go Pikachu, Shining Pearl, and Legends Arceus, but I've put an average of like 2 hours into each of them, lol. I'm curious to know whether this "leak" could pass as something plausible. It really just started with me trying to brainstorm where Pokémon could go from here in terms of how to name two different versions that sounded equally interesting. I even looked to Splatfests for ideas, lol. Ultimately, I thought Pokémon Angels and Demons was a really cool idea, and I didn't think there had been a Pokémon game set in Greece before, so it just made a lot of sense to me.

I found out they’re making an expansion pack for BOTW that adds over 300 Koroks which hide in different places each game so you can’t ever find a guide to help you.

Also, BOTW 2 is canceled 🤷

If I was to do this properly I'd create a new account to do it just to make it seem more "legit". But here's an attempt.....

  • DLC for Super Mario Odyssey which adds some new worlds. Some of these worlds re-create levels from Super Mario Galaxy. Is expected to be included as part of the NSO expansion
  • Gameboy Advance will be added to NSO, will launch the service with Minish Cap, F-Zero, Metroid Fusion and WarioWare Twisted
  • Separate to NSO Nintendo will be releasing a replica original Gameboy with a collection of 30 games
  • Using the same engine as Link's Awakening there will be a HD remaster for Oracle of Seasons/Ages. Both games will be bundled together as one release
  • Wario Land HD is in development, expected to release before the end of this year
  • Metroid Prime HD Trilogy is complete but Nintendo is delaying its release until next year

The new Kirby game will come with an online multiplayer, the name for quick play will be called fast eater.

The multiplayer matches revolve around two teams of 10 Kirby, running around the map and eating, copying, or just spitting out items to attack other players.

The rules being which team can get 60 kills first is the winner. More online modes in this nature are planned, and wile there will only be one map at launch, there will be more maps, and more characters.

Guys, you won't believe this, but my friend's friend's uncle's friend who knows this guy who knows this other guy that has a mate who works as a janitor at Nintendo MIGHT have found plans for a New Switch XL.

You don't get it, ALL the rumours were true! An OLED screen, 4K capability, built-in HD camera, food dispenser, auto-play. It's all there!

Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.

Today's Pokemon Presents will reveal/showcase a new entry in the Conquest series called Pokemon Legendary Conquest. It takes place in the same world as Legends Arceus with characters from there crossing over into this new tactics game, with the general plot being how you, along with the Galaxy Team, will need to track down Legendaries that have been running amok across the Hisui. Partnerships you can expect include Akari/Rei with the chosen starter, Kamado and Snorlax, Volo and Togepi-Togekiss and many more. Brand new characters, including those that may relate to characters established in the previous Conquest game, may also appear throughout your journey. Pokemon Legendary Conquest is scheduled to release on 15th July 2022.

An Animal Crossing turn based RPG is currently in development at a major third party studio in Japan.

The lead designer is an industry veteran who has worked on several games in the Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy series.

The game will feature a traditional battle system with some unique and exciting modifications to reflect the IP.

It won't be required to own and have played AC:NH but players who have will be able to unlock bonuses (in both games).

The style and nature of the game will remain firmly family friendly - the developers have used Earthbound and Kingdom Hearts as points of reference in regard to how it's possible to make an RPG for a younger audience without it coming across as very violent - but your villager will be able to craft weapons.

Much like in mainline Animal Crossing games - members of your team may join or leave your party based on how much attention you give them.

Amiibo will be compatible with the game and can be used to summon specific animals to join your party.

Tom Nook will be the ultimate boss of the game.

The dev team are hopeful that the game will be shown at E3 2022 and launched for Christmas 2022 but this isn't locked in yet.

The team behind Crypt of the Necrodancer is making a new game using an Nintendo IP... F-Zero...

Uniquely combines racing with rogue-like elements (think the Joker cup from F-Zero X but greatly expanded) and rhythm based gameplay.

There will apparently be boss battles in the game but I don't know the details on how these will work.

Miyomoto is personally very excited about the game - thinks this is the big innovation that he's been looking for in F-Zero since the days of the GameCube.

Nintendo are said to have been absolutely blown away by the pitch from the Necrodancer team - an insider claims that "we get dozens of pitches to use our IP every year but this was spectacular and, you know, because Cadence of Hyrule was so successful there was already a connection there to make this project happen".

Retro Studios has had a separate, long gestating, F-Zero project planned. Unlike the Necrodancer teams project this would be a true AAA game and was deep in development before the team had to switch all of their resources over to Metroid Prime 4 (some rumours falsely claimed that it was a StarFox Racing project - this was never true). It's been in deep freeze ever since but Nintendo of America is particularly keen for the project to go-ahead.

It would be years from release because most of Retro is still hard at work on Metroid Prime 4 but NoA specifically doesn't want to risk a repeat of the negative reaction to Metroid Federation Force - they want to announce the more conventional "F-Zero SX" in the same Direct as the indie budgeted "F-Zero of the Necrodancer" to pre-emptively deflect some of that away.

NCL wants to announce the Necrodancer team's game in the next Direct so it's all political at this point between Nintendo of Japan and Nintendo of America.

At E3 2022 their gonna release a new Kirby game called Kirby star warriors which is a Kirby and dynasty warriors crossover that involves fighting an alien armada to save the gamble galaxy!
Also to hold people over til the game releases they’ll announce a Kirby mobile game called Kirby’s star quest that combines puzzle and dragons gameplay with Kirby characters and the gameplay will involve switching star shaped tiles to form combos to battle enemies. The game will also have a gacha mechanic that will allow you to get fan favorites like Adeline and ribbon to Susie to the different mage sisters! Along with famous Kirby enemies AND bosses! With Kirby’s star quest releasing a month after E3. How did I do? To be honest these are games I would love to see happen.😅

@skywake I never hear anybody making any Wario Land rumors, but it's totally plausible that one is in development. Good Feel (developers of Shake It! / The Shake Dimension) wrapped up Yoshi's Crafted World in 2019, several months before Next Level finished Luigi's Mansion 3, and we already know their next project is Mario Strikers. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a reveal at E3 and a release in the Fall. It's also one of only a handful of notable Nintendo series not yet represented on Switch. I would believe it.

@StuTwo That's...that's actually a pretty interesting concept. I could see such a game being a fun little romp like Miitopia. It's so bold and out of left field, I think people would believe it, lol. After the Mario + Rabbids leak turned out to be real, I think the "You can't make this stuff up!" rumors are actually the most believable. It isn't the same regurgitated rumors like "Metroid Prime Trilogy, Pikmin 4, Mario Kart 9, and Mother 3!" that are so safe, everyone knows it's not real. I'm guessing the Tom Nook final boss thing was a joke about staying in debt to him, but if they went the Miitopia route, I think even that could work, lol. The game could be like some kind of stage play, with Tom Nook playing the role of the "Dark Lord" or something. That would certainly be one way to address the violence, since none of it is real.

@Greatluigi I've gotten very burned out on the Warriors formula, but I think a more cartoony franchise like Kirby would breathe new life into it. Something without an anime aesthetic would be a great change of pace, imo. I'm not the biggest fan of puzzle games, to be honest, so I would personally be a little disappointed if this is all we get for the 30th anniversary. I could totally see it happening though, so you did good, but now I'm scared. 🤣 It's a long shot coming from Nintendo, but my pie-in-the-sky wish is for a Kirby 2.5D collection with Return to Dreamland, Triple Deluxe, and Robobot remastered in HD and co-op added to the latter two. I would pee all over myself in delight if that happened. (Ignore that last sentence.)
