I keep seeing people complaining about how long they have to wait for a regular direct that shows off multiple titles, as if it's unpredictable. And then I see this article on how this has been the "longest wait" for a direct: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/02/its_been_162_days_s...
I just want to share the dates on the Nintendo directs over the past few years in MM/YY format.
4/15
6/15 (E3)
11/15
3/16
9/16 (technically a 3DS direct but only because the Wii U was dead and the Switch hadn't been revealed yet)
4/17 (notice how this is actually the longest wait with 200+ days, not the one specified in the article which occured because of no E3 2016)
6/17 (E3)
9/17
3/18 (focus on Mario Tennis)
6/18 (E3)
9/18
2/19 (focus on FE:TH)
6/19 (E3)
9/19
As you can see, the pattern is always a February-April direct (usually March), followed by an E3 direct, and then ending with a September (but once was as late as November) direct. There is nothing unusual or unpredictable about this.
This schedule clearly shows that we will be getting a direct fairly soon. Personally, I believe it will be the first 2 weeks of March, with a focus on AC:NH.
