Topic: Are all third party controllers like this?

I was able to successfully connect The 8Bitdo SN30 Pro Retro Bluetooth Gaming Controller to my Switch and it works fine. However, after trying to search for the controller, it shows a "?" on top of the controller's icon in my controller list. I guess that the "?" obviously means that the system can't find the controller and can't activate it. Are all third party controllers like this? Basically, I have to always connect the controller manually and can't find the controller despite the controller already being recognized in my controller list. The controller is in the link below.

The controller is simply not always on stand by like the first party ones.

This conserves battery.

So since this is a third party controller, not being able to find the controller and showing a "?" on top of the controller's icon is normal?

@Darthy09 you should contact the maker and ask them first since they would have know their product better then users on here.

@Darthy09 Not all third party controllers are made alike. The 8bitdo controllers are like this because they are not licensed by Nintendo. All licensed third party controller will connect just like a Pro would.

Hi
Does anyone know if it’s possible to buy just the usb cable to connect switch controllers with the console. Our dog has chewed through a number of these and I’m struggling to find replacements as most of the ends are too big to plug into the controller?
Thanks
