@figureguy
I never said that getting a low speed wasn't possible I just said that getting a low speed doesn't seem to mean much. To the extent that we can even call ~250Mbps "slow". Ever since I got a faster connection I often get lower speeds than my connection on that test. When you made this thread I tested it and was getting 200Mbps. But games always download at my full connection speed and I never have connectivity issues in games. So it's not an issue
Think about it, do you use your Switch 2 to run internet speed tests? Or do you use it to play and download games? If it's not impacting your ability to download and play games it's not an issue. And you said yourself you didn't have any big games to re-download to test it because you always buy physical, so there you go
Interestingly this morning (6AM on a Wednesday) I'm getting 533Mbps, I have a 500Mbps connection. I think that's the first time I've seen that on the Switch 2 speed tester (admittedly I don't spend all day everyday running and logging this test). I changed no settings to get this result. Maybe they've changed a setting somewhere or I landed on a different server. Maybe that server throttles the tests at different times of the day. Maybe they have a certain monthly allocation and it just reset. Who knows. Honestly who cares if my games still download fast
But again, even if it were an issue, you were never going to "resolve" this with the suggestions that were being put forward
@skywake I don't use it to run internet Speed tests but just to play and download games. I do always buy physical but I was thinking long term about the game-key card situations and how large the downloads could become to get something running on the S2.
I know there is a system update I need to install, perhaps similar to yours I might get a jump. I also like you don't run tests constantly but every few times I go to play something.
There might not be a way to resolve it but test the theory if possible. Spectrum, since I know no one with a gig plan, is trying to see if I can come to their local center and hook up to their network. Bring my phones, tablet, laptop and S2. See what I get on all the devices that seem low and if there is just a huge coincidence let it be. But if there is a variation then go from there. It might be a security issue so we'll see.
