You are absolutely crazy if you think that Nintendo would ever bundle monolithic games such as the entire Xenoblade series on a single cartridge.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to see collections/compilations like this, and I'd happily pay whatever they demand, but it just won't happen.
Nintendo didn't even see fit to bundle the other New Super Mario Bros. games alongside U Deluxe in a sort of "New Super Mario Bros. All Stars" release, which would have been fantastic, particularly as I really want to replay NSMB Wii, but I don't want to dust off the Wii/Wii U.
So far as Monolith making other games goes, it's worth bearing in mind that they also made substantial contribution to a lot of Nintendo's biggest hits including The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing and Splatoon. That's presumably far more valuable than them trying to build a new IP from scratch.
Meanwhile, Xenoblade is largely them getting to do their own thing. It might not be the hugest of sellers, but it's doing relatively good business and has a highly engaged fanbase that's doing a significant word-of-mouth campaign, where Nintendo's own marketing has been relatively light.
I dare say that they will keep pitching other ideas, and maybe they'll even get to make one now that their second production unit seems finally caught up with remakes. However, that's assuming that they haven't already been seconded to the next Zelda game, or whatever other priority Nintendo has.
@Matt_Barber They do have three in-house production teams. One on remakes, one on new Xenoblade games, and one helping Nintendo. I could see the team working on remakes being utilized to make a new IP.
