@Misima the manuals might be useful in act 3 but only if they can’t help your characters upgrade for certification in act 1 or help put them on the cusp in act 2. The different high level skills for each healer I should have seen coming but it is still a surprise when you get them to level 50+, why black magic spell books scattered about and no white magic spells?
Also there’s a weird item restriction in the final battle similar to the act 2 restriction, you lose access to unused books and stat consumables to you have to restart section if you forgot to use them, but for some reason have access to every other thing in your inventory - it just seems spiteful to players at that point to make them redo a section for that.
I discovered today that in order to see Jester's c support with leda you have to recruit him on either chapter 9 or 10, ledas route and see his support conversation, otherwise you can't see it on chapter 11 or 12 and it becomes permanently locked unless you redo a chapter in the obelisk,
For example his support is time limited and is marked as 'you can't view in in this chapter' after chapter 10.
@XenobladeKisekiFan and it’s kind of onerous to recruit him with all the trips, I managed to ask him on first run in last month with Leda and the wild goose chase made me groan and stop playing for a short while. Obviously easier next time around but the tedium of a lot of the tasks in Dagsion is wearisome even on automatic when repeating for things like this. Also when you don’t have him and Goliath in your party they show up in some one else’s entourage in act 2 and if they are, they are replaced by generic units of same class. Also you might be able to unlock it on another flame lord path..
@Misima Guns are considered magical weapon, so you can't just give them to a pugilist and expect them to do much. Anyone with a high magic stat is going to do well though, and they've got weight and accuracy benefits over early game spells that often makes the difference between hitting and doubling.
You've also got limitless uses of them, and can take them to the blacksmith for upgrades. A Salamander+5 has 21 might, which isn't too shabby.
The only character I ever got Fortify on in Part 1 was Sirocco, and that's with the help of a lot of white magic spam. It's mostly a Part 3 thing, with a lot of the best users having limited availability up to that point.
@wooferjones Yes, you can upgrade all weapons, but you can't upgrade spells, and that puts a premium on weapons that do magical damage, when most of the enemies you meet have higher Def than Res.
@Matt_Barber thanks for that - I am still in last level, playing a turn and taking a break and was wondering why some things work and others do not (zero damage) and you just solved it, I am learning things all the time in this forum.
