Some fans are saying the game might be delayed to late 2026 due to lack of information including release date:
Also why is Fire emblem 4,5 and 6 still unavailable in any legal format in Europe and US.
Nintendo should copy Nis America's example, that they used a fan translation called geofront for trails from zero and azure, two previously unreleased games in the us and europe.
Some fans are saying the game might be delayed to late 2026 due to lack of information including release date:
The new Yoshi game had no reelase date and little information until this week and now it has a May release date. Fortune's weave could easily be any month between June and December.
Since it was announced for a 2026 release date and we haven't gotten any First-Party directs yet, it's probably safe to say it's still scheduled for the middle of, or the latter half of 2026.
As for the translation of 4, 5, and 6, it would be amazing if they just followed NIS America's example like you suggested. However, since these games are already available on NSO in Japan, if these types of ports were made, then there would be no incentive for the Japanese audience to buy them.
Intelligent Systems would probably rather make full remakes of these games so they could resell these titles in Japan, where a significant portion of the Fire Emblem fanbase is. This is why, before Fortune's Weave was announced, I had expected a remake of FE 4. Now, though, I think that the dev time for new games is long enough that they will probably be mainly focusing on new games, at least unless/until they come up with a different business strategy.
Currently playing:
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Shovel Knight: King of Cards
Rune Factory 4 Special
@Uiopo fire emblem, zelda and xenoblade are all missing core new games on the switch 2 so a release date announcement for fire emblem is due.
The geofront translation that nis america used, was actually better than the some western publishers own translations for japanese games, which is why Nintendo should definitely use a fan translation, of which many exist for those 3 games.
I miss the days of the 3ds when we got 2 different fire emblems and one remake.
Yeah, I would definitely like a release date announcement for Fortune's Weave soon! It's be really nice to get a Fortune's Weave Direct, as I really wanna see more of the gameplay details (especially whether or not the weapon triangle will return!).
And yeah, the 3DS era was great for Fire Emblem! More frequent games and a higher likelihood for remakes was nice! I hope this next game will be worth the wait. It would be nice if the gameplay of Fortune's Weave would be as good as some of the pre-Three Houses games, while also including the stuff that people liked from Three Houses.

@Uiopo my favourite games on the 3ds were fire emblem fates conquest/birthright, awakening and shadows of valentia.
I'm hoping fortune's weave has the same gameplay as valentia as that game was one of the best strategy rpgs I have ever played, I loved three houses too.
@LordDieALot I think the game will launch in late July, simular to three houses.
Xeno series = max hype.
Falcom series = max enjoyment.
@rallydefault its strange that this is Nintendo's biggest and probably most high budget rpg that is coming this year and we still know very little about the game.

Did you realize that posting a Reddit thread did not justify making a thread so you had to have a 2nd unrelated FE thing to justify this thread existing?
1. Lack of news about a game that doesn't even have a release date yet is a nothingburger. Its is entirely normal for Nintendo to not say a lot about a game, until they are actually ready to start doing pre-launch marketing. People need to learn some patience, and not give credence to baseless rumors.
2. Setting aside for a second that I don't believe Nintendo would ever use a fan-created translation in a million years, on simple "We refuse to grant that level of legitimacy to unauthorized derivative works" grounds. In order to use a fan translation, they would need to actually be able to buy said translation. This requires that the translation must have clearly defined ownership, and that all the owners are actually willing to make a deal. This was possible, with great effort, in the case of the Geofront translations, because Geofront was a fairly well organized and professional operation. . . and even there it was a very surprising move that NISA was willing and able to go through the effort to achieve it. Do any of these existing FE translations even slightly fit the criteria? Because a translation where the ownership is ambiguous ( because it was worked on by a ton of people with no clear contract or license, for example ), is useless and might as well not exist. Ditto for one with clear ownership, where the owner has zero interest in making a deal.
@metaphysician the issue players have with the latest fire emblem game is that lack of information including pre orders of standard and limited editions of the game, kills the hype, even with fire emblem engage, I remember Nintendo announced pre orders soon as the game was announced, which probably means fortune's weave isn't ready for launch yet.
I wonder if Nintendo has had some problems with development or translation issues such as voice acting which is why we haven't heard anything yet.
fire emblem 4 has one of the best stories of any video game but I haven't been able to play the game due to the fact there is no legal way to play it,
Some excellent fan translations exist for fe 4,
Nintendo should proof read the fan translations and make sure it is accurate,
Fun Fact! Three Houses was teased January 2017 and didn't get its first official trailer until June 2018 and didn't get its release date confirmed until February 2019 for a July 2019 release. Pre-orders and special editions were announced February 2019 as well. If Fortune's Weave is looking at a late 2026 release than lack of news is right in line with this. A theoretical Late March, Early April direct could even still follow for a Late July-Early September release window.

I don't think it's anything drastic like that, pretty sure Nintendo just wanted to hype their new console with that September 2025 Direct by including trailers for all of their upcoming 2025/2026 games which had usable footage. I mean, that same Direct also revealed Pokopia, and they didn't gave that one any exact launch window either; just like with Fortune's Weave, they only said it's coming in 2026, and now it's already been released.
@AnnoyingFrenzy I remember they changed the voice actress for edelgard from the early build and some of the characters looked slightly different compared to the final version,
I really hope fire emblem fortune's weave is still coming out later this year.

Again, worrying about proofreading is missing the point: there is no point proofreading something until and unless Nintendo is able to actually buy it. To make it more clear if its somehow not: Nintendo is not able to simply download a fan translation, stick it in a commercial product, and call it a day. They own the original work, they do not own the translation made by other people.
@Don
I know this isn't a solution many will embrace, but it costs $100 to have someone hardmod a Switch, usually a 2 week turnaround from mailing out to getting delivered on your doorstep, which allows playing fan-translated Fire Emblem games (as well as outputting docked image portably for guaranteed 720p+ resolution and overclocking for stable performance). $100 and hybrid handheld English Fire Emblems are yours. Not to mention English translations for Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2, Yokai Watch Remastered and Yokai Watch 4, or play Final Fantasy 7 with a mod swapping assets to match the remake.
Even when used responsibly, not for piracy but for things like this, it's well worth doing imo.
As for Fortune's Weave, we'll get info by the summer Direct, at the latest. Probably not before then, but definitely no later than that. It'll release this year, so just relax and enjoy the games we have and are getting until then.
We got 2 brand new Fire Emblem games on Switch. I suspect the same will be true for Switch 2. I, too, expected a remake of Genealogy of the Holy War. But that game would need some, let's say, reimagination and revision for the larger maps. Probably divide them into sub-chapters with side activities in each castle. It's possible we get 2 new Fire Emblem games this generation and a remake (hopefully of FE4). But if not, it's fine. They're doing what they can. Higher quality games means dropping 2 new titles and a remake on one system like on 3DS may not longer be feasible.
@JaxonH all those games that you showed on switch I really wish were available, those are literally the best japan only switch games and its really cool to see people running those on a switch in English.
The reason why it was so easy for intelligent systems to make 3 fire emblem games on the 3ds was because they used the same engine and models for each game,
fire emblem fates is the same engine as awakening but with a different artist and so is echoes too.
Fortunes weave already looks amazing so they should keep using that engine for other switch 2 fire emblem games because that would hopefully mean more frequent releases.
Hopefully the next Nintendo direct will show a release date trailer for the game and a deep dive into the new characters and world including pre orders.
