Hi All, Switch 2, docked, and intermittent HDMI dropout / black screen / disconnection issues. ie a brief black screen, as signal is lost, then back on again a second later. Games I have played eg MK world or Zelda TOTK. My TV is an LG C2 OLED, firmware up to date, using the included Nintendo HDMI into TV, regardless of which port. I'm exceedingly careful with connections, so no damaged ports, stressed or kinked cables etc. I also have a PS5 and PC with zero issues like this. PS5 shows full compatibility with all display modes you can think of, and has never done this. I had a good few hours of the issue not happening after powering down everything (unplugging tv etc, powering off switch properly (hold down its power button and switch it off). But it reoccured. Update - after reading more and more about HDMI, CEC and 120hz bugs (EG https://youtu.be/2y-LJOKGGY4 and https://youtu.be/Cpo3VpZ2BwI ) I disabled 120hz in the switch 2 display settings. The issue hasn't happened again to me yet. TBC! Update 2 - Issue hasn't repeated itself with 120hz switched off. I called Nintendo call centre, who / still / have zero awareness / not admitting anything / just saying return or repair it. Update 3 - I re-enabled 120hz in the switch 2 display settings, and DISABLED, in my TV's "game optimiser" settings, g-sync and freesync (seeing as VRR isn't supported anyway). A couple of days later, the issue hasn't happened again. Update 4 - I'm still flicker free, but lots are still suffering across a range of TVs and setups. Some resolving disabling HDMI CEC, some switching off 120hz, etc. Perhaps we have slightly faulty docks, perhaps poor HDMI cable shielding, perhaps power supply issues (our homes or nintendo power supply) we just don't know. Please tell Nintendo about your issue if you have one, and this thread!

@ThatViridian I didn't do it, but I think ultimately if nothing works you won't have a choice on the matter.

Odds some component in the chain of power or signal is wonky. HDMI has a flaw in that the signal can fail easier than past connections did and whatever Nintendo did to their handshake protocol made it worse.

This is the type of behavior you would see on a failing cheap cable, and if it happens with different cables on different monitors it suggests the flaw is with the Switch 2.

I never fixed mine, I just turned the match power state off and resigned myself to standing up to turn the system on.

@Misima Yeah I figure I'm probably going to. I've used different HDMI cables, but I've still used the same dock. The system itself is still on when the blackouts happen, and I've never had the issue playing in handheld mode, so I suspect it's a dock issue.
