OK. So I'll make two regular guesses, and one oddball guess. I'll be predicting...

Ditto. Was kind of expecting this tbh, there's a lot of anniversaries coming up that they might want to coincide with, and I imagine that whatever we might get this week will be limited after last week's large release.

I suspect the apparent lack of any drop today means we'll be getting a bunch of Virtual Boy games tomorrow to coincide with the release of Virtual Boy on Nintendo Switch Online. I'm glad I put that in my prediction.

@UpsideDownRowlet I still refuse to play this guessing game again, but that's what I'm leaning toward now. I have to admit... I know nothing about Virtual Boy game music. Might be interesting just to hear it in general.

Monday/today was a US holiday so Nintendo of America might have been closed. I think Japanese or US holidays have sometimes affected schedules in the past.

I don't think that US-only holidays have ever affected the schedule.

It could have something to do with how huge Origami King's OST was last week, but they would have given a notice if that was the case.

Very interesting. I see one of two things happening.

First is what a lot of you pointed out which is they are coinciding it with the Virtual Boy landing on NSO. In which case we will see tomorrow.

The 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series is on Saturday. I figured that would tie into next week originally but my wildcard theory is that we are getting a Zelda anniversary direct this week and that's the connection. Maybe we will get music from the live Orchestral Tours they do 🤞

I'm gonna swap my guesses around, let's do

Since other people are swapping out guesses, I will swap out Xenoblade Chronicles 1 for a batch of Virtual Boy games. My other guesses are still Zelda Link's Awakening and Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Not changing my guesses, I did them initially with the mindset that a delay might happen. Makes me happy that I didn't go with 3D World like I wanted to though lol.

@AJWolfTill makes a good point though - I had the Zelda 40th in mind with my guesses, but I didn't think about the orchestra, that would be really neat!

and here's the part where i pull out my corkboard and say, with absolutely zero evidence, that this indicates a direct being announced tomorrow.

in part because i'm desperate, and in part because even on weeks where drops are delayed, we usually don't wait very far into the week to learn what's up. if we get past wednesday with nothing i'll be way more confused.

Last time there was a delay, we had nothing to go off of until Thursday night.

@squiddu-real I can't say I'm convinced of a Direct happening, but it is indeed quite strange. Normally the reason for a delayed drop would be a simultaneous NSO release, but that would be today with Virtual Boy. Then there's also that rumor of a Direct for this week circulating, which I wouldn't normally put much stock in, but putting that together with the Nintendo Music weirdness, it has me at least contemplating the possibility of a Direct.

Also, if there is a Direct, then it must be absolutely stacked for them to have to release a Partner Showcase just 2 weeks prior.

@squiddu-real I don't believe the general Direct rumours for this week but I could see them do a standalone Direct for Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, Splatoon Raiders or Rhythm Heaven Groove if any of those are releasing in May. Yoshi release date feels more like a MAR10 Day announcement.

They've also delayed for anniversaries, the original Splatoon's OST comes to mind (delayed by one day to coincide with the 10th anniversary). Zelda's 40th is this Saturday, that seems like a pretty important date that they might want to meet.

After thinking about it, I also realized that releasing something on Zelda's 40th allows them to both catch up after last week's release, and aligns them for a release on Pokémon Day as well.
