I can't wait for the storm that is to follow. Even if this looks like it's going to be the best movie ever created, people are still going to complain about it. I'm so excited about it because I'm going into it thinking that it's going to be laughably bad. I mean, this is the studio that gave us the Minions, Secret Life of Pets, and Sing, the banes of my existence. Would love to be proven wrong, though!

I can't wait to see every fibre of Mario moustache on the big screen.

Well, we're getting a mini-Direct showing it off at the same time as Comic-Con from Nintendo themselves.

@Fizza Yeah I'm actually pretty impressed at the quality of this screenshot. The toads maybe look... a little strange against everything else surrounding them. But that might just be this screenshot. I'm sure in motion it'll look a lot better.

Oh no I just had a thought for the direct. What if they do an interview with the cast and it's cringy.

What if he plays all the toads? That would be funny.

@Kermit1 From what I can tell the shortest Direct ever was the infamous July 2020 Partner Showcase at 8:14 which does give the impression there's more to the Direct than just the trailer.

Okay, am I the only one that actually thinks that Mario's face looks good? It honestly looks like it could be used in a next-gen game in like 5 years or whatever.

The face isn't really the sole problem (as the angle doesn't give a great view) it appears they have slimmed him down and given him more real life portions. Also the collar is an odd thing to add.

Since the movie is gonna suck anyway there's no need to get worked out up over it.

@jump Yeah I mean, I don't think he looks perfect, but some people are treating this reveal like a national tragedy. Nintendo fans gonna be Nintendo fans though.

@StarPoint It's not really a Nintendo fan thing, just the usual internet hyperbole the same way people complain about the black elves in Lord Of The Rings despite never reading the books or that Turning Red is unwatchable rubbish because they aren't a teenage girl.
