Topic: Switch Lan connection for cloud gaming?

Apologies if this is a bit of a luddite question, but if you don't know you don't know!

I gave the free trial of Control a go recently. First time it ran fairly fine, second try the next night, sat the same distance from our router was less successful. In fact the game was unplayable, the graphics so pixelated and mushy it was impossible to define anything.

Now, I learned a long time ago not to attempt to watch a video on the eshop as it'd just buffer forever, but I quite fancy this Control game, and of course I'd imagine more Cloud games are coming, like Hitman.

So my question is, if I bought a Lan connector to wire into my Dock, would this improve performance of games, fix the graphics issue I had? Or does it simply provide a more stable connection rather than speed?

Hi Mii_duck,
Indeed, an Ethernet cable will have a better latency (ping) and a better bandwidth. Wifi is much more limited, especially on the Switch (no Wifi 6, as majority of devices as of 2020).

@Mii_duck you won't be able to plug a network cable directly. You need a USB to Ethernet adapter. I use this one, works fine: Plugable USB to Ethernet Adapter, USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet
