Hello. Not possible to get free trial. It says one has to try via pc or phone etc. but there it only allows to add funds not get free trial. Is this so? No way to start free trial because eshop option is not working 🤔.. then maybe remove the option so it is not advertising wrongly that there is a free trial working.
Or its just now and maybe it will work later/tomorrow
If you’re talking about switch online, then the free trial asks for credit card details so that it can auto subscribe the moment the trial is over. I believe you can turn off auto renewal in the eshop options though.

Thank you for answer. I tried put in credit card but it was then it says to try pc or phone, but on pc and phone it says go through eshop on switch so it seems not working.
Its not a big problem since its not expensive, but there is something wrong with the system
@Tralala Even though it's free, I think the Nintendo Switch Online free trial requires that you enter your credit card info into your nintendo account on nintendo's website.
If I remember right, you can't access eshop to download free demos or free-to-play games until you've put your credit card info into your nintendo account on nintendo's website. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while since I set up my Switch in 2017.
