Hi everybody, this is where you can talk about the Yoshi ride at Super Nintendo World. We recently got some footage of it so what do you think? It seems really slow, but still fun. Tell me what you think.

We need a Mario + Rabbids sequel! And an Odyssey one too!

It does a fine job at creating something that everyone can ride, the type of ride that Disney excels at but Universal isn't really known for. Definitely could've been a bit longer. It would've been nice for it to go into the Mario Kart showbuilding and see into the queue or the ride similar to Disney's Peoplemover which it's obviously inspired by.

It's nice to see all those animated props so close up which all seem to have a decent range of animation. The interactive element with the buttons seems to be a bit tacked on but it's much more preferable to making this yet another gun ride.

About the slow movement there's one benefit, it will make it easy to board so that'll reduce (not completely) how often the vehicles have to stop.

@AwesomEli Like @Toy-Link said, I got major Disney Peoplemover ride vibes - not a bad thing. Peoplemover is still a popular ride at Disney World because, it's a relaxed way to sight-see the park, which is packed full of interesting charm. Which is actually how a lot of iconic Disney rides are, Small World, Peter Pan, Frozen, Spaceship Earth, etc.The background music is even similar to Disney World's Peoplemover at Magic Kingdom, couldn't help notice that - not a bad thing, at all. I think the Yoshi ride looks great. Super Nintendo World is shaping up impressively.

I like most of it, but didn't really get the part with Captain Toad and the Golden Egg (?). Also, Grown-up Mario and Peach are in the Land, so why are their Baby Versions on the ride?

@Marioman2020
I think it's meant to be an expedition for the Yoshi's eggs including a rare golden egg. Which is why near the end there's a bunch of baby Yoshis who may've just hatched.

I think the pipe is meant to be a time traveling pipe (which New Island confirms that time travel does exist in the "mainline series" lol). I do think it would've been a bit more readable and less confusing if I'm right on the premise to replace the babies with Captain Toad's brigade or Yoshi eggs.

I'm excited to see the full extent of the interactive elements and Mario Kart (even if it's going to be impossible to fully capture the experience on camera). Once the DK section opens with it coaster that'll have a cool gimmick, I think SNW will beat Harry Potter's Wizarding World as the best overall area that they've ever created.

@Toy_Link An expedition for eggs would be cool. Maybe that's what those egg-shaped buttons in the video are for? To collect eggs? It would be really cool if you could actually interact with something, like in Mario Kart, on the ride. Maybe an invisible Yoshi tongue you can use to eat enemies or something? Maybe that's another reason why the ride goes so slow, for the view, and for the chance to eat enemies and get eggs.

I just looked at the footage again. It looks like there's a green egg near Conkdor, Kamek is holding the blue egg inside the indoor segment and a red egg near the Pokey. When the vehicles get close, the Yoshi you're riding sounds a "Hey Hey!".

The buttons look to "defeat" the enemies in different ways, Green Egg causes Conkdor to go down, Blue Egg seems to cause Kamek to spin as if being defeated, and unknown for the red egg (I'm guessing there's an enemy that we don't see or maybe it controls the Thwomp just before the load/unload)

@Toy_Link Wow! That's actually really, really cool! I wonder though: how do you collect the golden egg Captain Toad has? It didn't look like there was a golden egg button on the Yoshi... Or maybe I'm blind. Maybe you don't collect it all? Seems pretty unlikely in my opinion... Did you see anything in the footage I didn't see? Like a way to somehow get the golden egg?

Since Captain Toad seems to be thanking us, I think it's just a MacGuffin introduced while waiting in the line. Would explain why Captain Toad seemingly comes out of nowhere, I assume that he or his crew is somewhere in the queue planning the expedition or something similar.

I haven't seen any pictures or videos of the waiting areas or loading/unloading station for Yoshi's Adventure, the exact opposite of Mario Kart (only onride photo I've seen of that is the high score list at the end of the ride) so your guess is as good as mine on that part of Yoshi.

Found an official English description from USJ's website and it looks like I'm right on it being an expedition helmed by Captain Toad:
"Go on a journey with Yoshi
Hang on to Yoshi as you search for Captain Toad on a treasure hunt! Use the Captain's map to find 3 mysterious eggs! Get a spectacular view of the Mushroom Kingdom from Mount Beanpole while having fun on this ride that's perfect for the whole family."

@Toy_Link Thanks! The golden egg thing makes sense now. Also, Mount Beanpole... Isn´t that from 3D World? And the captain´s map thing.. This sounds crazy but what if you actually choose where to go following the map? (Actually, no, the footage makes it clear but what if?) Also the waiting area I think will probably have some robot Toad Brigade Toads to tell you about the plot or something. I dunno. Maybe.
