What if Nintendo DID buy Sega? Would this make sonic games better or worse? I'm just curious on what other people think, because I think it would be kind of cool to see Nintendo try to run the Sega business. On the other hand what if Sega owned Nintendo? Is this a good idea or not as much?
Sega is holding their own pretty well. Most of the franchises they own and ignore (as awesome as they are) probably wouldn't sell too well. Also, I really think we need to stop having this conception that Sega's just "those guys that make Sonic". It would be interesting if Nintendo teamed with Sega for a collaborative Sonic game, but they wouldn't need to buy Sega out to do so.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Why is it that everyone thinks that Nintendo should buy other companies all the time?
Many see it as a huge advantage. If Nintendo were to buy out big names like SEGA or Capcom, then all their IPs would become theirs and therefore exclusive to Nintendo consoles, giving people more incentive on needing to buy Nintendo systems.

Yeah I agree. But whenever I look at Sega all I can think of is Sonic. I've played many other Sega games but the Sonic series is honestly the only one I care for. I just brought this question up because I was thinking if Nintendo owned Sonic, would they incorporate things like: more sonic remixes, different style of cutscenes, etc.
I would like to see them colaborate for next gen and make a Super console better than all the rest. I think it would be a great idea for Nintendo to buy Sega, just not a the moment. Nintendo has enough problems right now.
Nintendo and Sega have a bunch of franchises that they ignore.
I think most if not all major video game companies have this same problem nowadays. :/
I was gonna say the same thing.
Nintendo can be bad at this but Sega deserves an award for how frequently they've failed to make an IP more popular than "cult classic". Like no one can ever top Sega, especially considering their fears of actually releasing something that isn't Sonic over here.
Regardless, this would be unnecessary since Sega is one of the few 3rd parties that consistently does really well on Nintendo. Like almost bizarrely well on Nintendo. And with Atlus with them and also cool with Nintendo, this doesn't seem necessary.
