I want to see those old rare franchises back on a Nintendo system, and done right again. Of course, who wouldn't. I would also like Nintendo to acquire some sort of head quarters in West Virginia to give me somewhere new to work.

Acquiring Rare would be good, though. They could immediately fire everyone, put Battletoads on Virtual Console (and the NES Marble Madness if the designer doesn't have the rights to it), do nothing else, and I would call it a good move.
Sony seems to be in more trouble then Nintendo right now, but IDK if that would be a good idea, because in Japan Nintendo would be almost a monopoly, since the Xbox doesn't sell and u need competition

Mistwalker, unless they already have. EDIT: I was thinking of Monolith Soft, so yeah, Mistwalker, so they can put out more First-Party RPGs, especially since S-E seems rather uninterested in putting full-fledged Final Fantasy games on Nintendo consoles.
I agree with this and maybe Ganbarion too as while Pandora's tower doesn't look like it will be remembered in the same way that the other two Operation rainfall games will be, it still looks really good, especially considering that its their first original IP. I would also like to see them acquire Rare and I know this doesn't mean there will be better Rare games as many of the Rare staff that worked on their classics have left now, I would love to be able to play their N64 classics on VC.

Or on ANY system for that matter

Except many of the prominent employees already left, so sadly it will never happen

Nintendo is too lame to acquire anything. Instead, Sony should acquire Nintendo.
I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line Nintendo bought Tecmo Koei so it could happen!

Tecmo Koei would be obscenely expensive - it's a top 10 Japanese publisher, and it would add very little value to Nintendo. If Nintendo was going to make an acquisition of that size, it would be better off gunning for Sega, Capcom or EA.
Not that it wouldn't be awesome, assuming Nintendo didn't get too hands on. I'd still rather Nintendo snap up one of the small Japanese otaku developers. Gust being the one that produces the best quality games, though it would be a laugh if they picked up Idea Factory or Grasshopper Manufacture for a Nintendo-touch Hyperdimension Neptunia 3 or Lollypop Chainsaw 2.
tbh, nintendo needs to put their current studios to work rather than buying up more dev`s. nintendo could quite easily out source some of their lesser used franchises to their external studios, and we`d have way more games that we`d be interested in, rather than being where every other game nintendo releases having mario in it. look how good punch out wii and donkey kong country returns turned out, i`m sure proves the point really.
