As mentioned by the title, I’m interested in seeing what y’alls favorite games are!
Rather it be niche, popular, you-name-it, let’s hear it!
I’ll start:
Mine is Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
I’ve hinted at this before, but this is the true first time I’ve mentioned this as my favorite, and here is why:
The Gameplay:
This game perfected turn-based combat, like no-joke I do not think it can get any better then this.
Team Relay, the Badges, the Attacks and ESPECIALLY the attacks that use 2 or more of the party members, it’s all perfect. (As homelander says in those low-quality TikTok ranking videos: “Perfect, everything is perfect down to the last minute detail”)
The platforming is pretty great too, I will admit some parts were a little …questionable (looking at you middle-of-chapter 3), but it’s still really fun.
I can go on and on but I won’t…
2: The Story/Characters
The characters in this game are genuinely so well-written to the point where you aren’t even bothered by the fact they’re bugs by the first 30 minutes, Vi Kabbu and Lief genuinely may be the best trio in all of gaming, they work so well together. The queen is suprisingly a standout too. In the beginning, you’re met to think that the queen will be the villain of the game as the “””twist”””, but the game flips your expectations on your head and the queen ISNT the villain, but instead a flawed but caring ruler who just wants to live up to her mothers reign
I could go on-and-on here too… but I got one more thing to say: The plot twist that occurs with Leif is genuinely terrifying and tragic, it’s a side quest that should never-ever be skipped on a playthrough (I don’t even know why it’s a side quest, it’s so damn good!), like everything about Leif is done spectaculary. (Vi and Kabbus own side quests (well kabbus was in the main story) were both amazing too)
3: The music
Genuinely on-par with Celeste, Undertale, SMG, etc.
The boss themes, the world themes, the random character themes, it’s all so memorable!
Seriously, I’m not lying when I say the music in this game is amazing. I listened to this stuff on a 4-hour car ride
and a lot more beyond that and I’m still not tired of the music.
The credits theme is also pretty much the only time I’ve ever created rain from my eyeballs due to videogame music.
This is a forum post, so I can’t go in more detail, but trust me when I say; this game is PEAK.
Pretty much inactive

Currently Playing: Suprisingly, nothing.
Good gameplay, good music, good audio design, brisk time to finish, and I get a little misty-eyed at the end. Tightly woven game design through and through.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,252 games (as of April 30th, 2024)

Baten Kaitos. I just absolutely adore everything about the game (and that is considering I dislike card battling systems...it and II are the only ones I have enjoyed so far) I used to listen to the OST for days on end. The story I felt was both grand and personal and one of the few games where I ended up caring about all of the main characters. Sailor Moon:Another Story is right behind it though.
Taiko is good for the soul, Hoisa!

Mine is Xenoblade Chronicles! Even after finishing the game to 100% completion, I'll revisit the game just to take in the scenery and music. I can never get enough of it
Metroid Prime. Sometimes I think its my favorite game because...it was the best game that came out when I was 12 more than any better reason. But for more exact reasons, I'd say its probably the best combination of being both an incredible Nintendo video game and an incredible atmospheric experience that I've played. A handful of games are better at one, I've yet to play one that's better at both, at least for me.
It's either Super Mario World or Super Mario All-Stars. Maybe even both. Those were the games that got me into Nintendo and Mario when I was a kid, and I've lost count of how many times I've played through them! I still have the original cartridges, as well.
Not because I'm a pro or anything, far from it.
I just love the whole idea of "what if" you know?
Snake VS Pichu?...they've got you covered. Not to mentioned the detailing in stages, the plethora of game modes to the point where you stop and go "oh my god there's a VR mode in this?!"
And the music, oh the music. Whether they are remixes or not, the sheer amount of music that can be enjoyed at any time taken from so many games big and small over the 40 years! That's flippin amazing. Sure they're quite compressed but that's understandable when you're trying to fit 1000+ music files in your game. Still a bit of a shame the DK Rap never went back to full Melee length but I digress.
Canasta since you didn't specify video game. 🧐 tbh, haven't played that card game since I was a kid but I have very fond memories.
Favorite video game is hard. There were various PC games I used to be obsessed with but I got burnt out of all of them. Generally the game that used to be my favorite fades away in my brain so I can't really say it's still my favorite.
For games I have on Switch and live in my brain right now, hard not to say Super Mario Maker 2.
One of my favorite more obscure games is They Bleed Pixels.
Man I hate these kinds of questions because it’s so hard to pick! I have to pick between xenoblade 2 or Mario galaxy! Maybe brawl as it was my first game…….uh…..if I have to pick….galaxy2, I just have so many amazing memories with that game,
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

Maybe Final Fantasy X? It's so hard to say because there are just so many games that left an impression during my formative years that got me into the genre & informed my tastes that it's hard to pick just one.
Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario World, Paper Mario, Twilight Princess, & A Link to the Past would all be up there too, but as I rarely replay games I haven't played any of these in well over a decade so can't vouch for how well they've held up (chose FFX as it's the only one I've replayed contemporarily via the HD remaster on Switch).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
I have a few of favorite games. I can't rate it, I just call it:
Heroes of Might and Magic III, Heroes of Might and Magic V, Disciples II, Civilization V, Sonic Adventure 2, Castlevania Aria of Sorrow, Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 5 Royal, Hard Track Apocalypse, Soul Sacrifice Delta and Bloodborne.
