Topic: What gamer are you more of? A retro gamer, or a modern gamer?

I am more of a retro gamer, the consoles I own are mostly retro systems, and I prefer retro games over today's games (not that they are bad, they are still great, but I think retro games are better).

Although I'm a relative youngster (just turned 18) but I've always been a retro gamer at heart. My first game was Super Mario World. I got my first console, the N64, when the Gamecube launched. I enjoy flashy graphics and technologically impressive games as much as the next guy, but I'd take a Super Nintendo over a PS3 any day.

Both. They both have something the other does not.

A modernly retro gamer. I like games that use modern technologies but go back to the simple controls and ideas of the old-school variety.

I like both too. Retro gaming is great for a challenge.

Both, I enjoy the retro games with the new stuff. Even when both are mixed up a bit (look at Geometry Wars).

Like Odd69 said, I do like the extra challenge that some retro games provide. Today's modern games just don't put up much of a fight. I do enjoy modern games though, since they generally have a lot more content and variety. Both types of games I enjoy, depending on which one I'm in the mood for.

I'd say I'm 60% retro gamer, 40% modern gamer.
