As kids, staying up all night seems to be some sort of ritual. Here's a thread where we can discuss our favorite memories from nights with no sleep. Here's some I remember:
My first attempt was with my brother & cousin (both older than I). I didn't succeed (although I was close), but it was still a memorable experience. My bro & cuz kept on playing world 1-2 of Super Mario World again & again, for some purpose I can't slightly remember.
A few years later, I stayed up all night playing Kirby 64. I honestly don't know why this sticks in my head (possibly my first successful attempt).
As a teenager, it became a weekly Saturday night ritual between me and my best friend. We'd watch some Adult Swim anime (usually just InuYasha), watch Cinematech (awesome show on G4 that was literally a half hour of nothing but various funny, wierd, or violent video game cut scenes), then we'd play the PS2 all night (usually DBZ or WWF/E games, but if one of us got something new, we'd show it off).
So, what are your favorite memories from staying up all night?

It's 7am here and I've been up all night playing Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.
I was planning to get some sleep but time went too quickly and now it's too late.
I've probably done it 2-3 times, but at the moment the only one I can remember was getting held up at customs in Seattle Intl Airport and having to get the first flight the following day. The place was mostly quiet, empty, and locked and the irritable customs officers told me to sit tight and wait for the guys on the next shift. Between the beeping, blaring, and janitors, I didn't sleep a wink. Instead I found a snack machine, a WiFi hotspot, and played Mario Kart DS - eventually breaking out the AC charger.
After reading these comments I'm almost baffled that no one else has done it for fun.
As kids, my brother, my cousins, my classmates, and myself used to try it all the time (or at least talk about it), but here, it seems as if no one's ever heard of staying up all night for fun.

I stay up all night all the time when I'm stuck into a game that I can't put down.
Once when I was addicted to Harvest Moon on DS I stayed up for two nights and was playing for 50+ hours straight.
Don't try that one.
The best memory I have of staying up all night was with my big brother and his friend playing Rampage: World Tour together. Smashing buildings and eating cops... Those were the days.

See I'm the opposite, I'm baffled as to why people ever do it for fun..
You'll have to make up that sleep anyway. It's either A) rest for at least a few hours and then continue having fun while enjoying somewhat normal functioning or B) sleep deprive yourself to the point where you think about sleep just as much as whatever you're doing. Meanwhile you're unable to function properly mentally, and now your circadian rhythm is screwed up for at least a week.
I can probably see why people try it one time for the hell of it, but why people subject themselves to that more than one time intentionally seems a bit weird to me. I also understand kids do not roll through this whole thought process, so don't mind me. lol

Well yeah, I would never do it nowadays, I just figured it was something most everyone would do as a kid from time to time (especially during the summer, when they'd be able to easily catch up on sleep later).
My memories of doing it seem fond enough, so I figured others would have similar stories.

This thread is kind of interesting in that it shows we have some nostalgic younger-ish people here and some slightly more jaded older-ish people here. Notice that I didn't call anyone young or old; the -ish suffixes are very important.
My friend came over to my house and his girlfriend went to HER friend's house. We had a competition to see who could stay up the longest. We tied. They stayed up all day afterward because they had Mountain Dew. My friend puked from eating a WHOLE BOX of MoonPies and I fell asleep when the sun came up.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
