Topic: The Ups and Downs of 2011

Basically, what were the Highlights and Disappointments of the year for you. Please note that this does not have to relate to gaming. It can be about anything that happened in your life.

The Ups:

• I got a PS3
• Learning that Tales of Graces f, Ni No Kuni, and Xenoblade Chronicles are all coming to North America next year
• The DS having a great send-off with games like Ghost Trick, Radiant Historia, Okamiden, Pokemon Black and White, and Solatorobo
• Getting to Stiff Nintendo and Best Buy by getting the 3DS just before the price drop, then getting the difference back.
• The Ambassador Program and eShop games making the 3DS worth owning in it's first year
• All the games I was hoping I'd enjoy this year I did
• I got into a lot of new series, like Monster Hunter and the Warriors series, and got back into the Final Fantasy and Tales series.

The Downs:

• I beat hardly any games this year.
• Phantasy Star Online 2 got delayed until 2012 and Final Fantasy XIV 2.0 may not come out until as late as 2013
• The Wii U didn't excite me in the least
• Realizing that even with the generous pricing, I can't afford to get the Vita day one
• Hardly any 3DS games interested me this year
• Nothing I played really surprised me this year either
• I still haven't gotten back into the Shin Megami Tensei series

The Good:

• Charlie Sheen
• I got a 3DS and a PS3 (Along with many other systems.)
• Getting a full dose of the PS3 catalog.
• I beat many games I've been wanting to for years but never had the time nor patience.
• Minecraft.
• Mom making it through her chemo therapy sessions.
• Beating Zelda 2!
• Brother in law and sister moved back to our home town with us.

The Bad:

• Failing at Demon's Souls.
• Rage/Brink _{Bethesda has lost all my faith. And no, Skyrim isn't enough to persuade me.}
• Mario Kart 7.
• Lack of Mel Gibson.
• Breaking my PS3 controllers...
• No Last Story.
• No Animal Crossing.

The Ups:

• Had a Triple Cheeseburger

The Downs:

• Finished my triple cheeseburger.

I watched 5 minutes of it and I have to say, I'm sold! I put hundreds of hours into the original. If I get my hands on this, it might be more.

Is it PC exclusive at the moment? I've also read it's Japan exclusive.

Nothing I read says it's not coming to the west, but I did read that they're not planning on releasing it on consoles right now.

Up: 3DS became and awesome system by the end of the year, factoring in retail and downloads.
Down: Being an Ambassador still stings, even though the GBA games are awesome. Best case scenario would've have been buying it for $170 before August 12th or whenever the cutoff was, since there was nothing cool about owning a 3DS until after then.

I'll list my downs first because I had way more of those.

Downs:

• Got a lametendo 3DS instead of the 360 I wanted for xmas, I think santa got confused
• The game that came with it was lameio kart 7, again I think santa got something wrong on my wishlist
• MHP3 HD for the PS3 turned out to be a crappy port of the PSP game, but then again what should I expect from Crapcom
• No good 3DS games
• Got 42 new :U: games, while only :B:ing like 6
• pikky dumped me

Ups:

• Zelda: SS turned out to be okay
• I played Persona 3 for the first time
• me and pikky got back together
