Reddit is "cutting" third-party apps and people mainly use Reddit on third-party apps (as the data shows) Reddit wants the bulk of people to use the official ad-filled Reddit app. In protest, pretty much 50% of Reddit will go dark and will make Reddit a ghost town until they either go back on their changes (probably not gonna happen) or make a good chnage.
