@Kermit1 It will sometimes just happen. Just be glad you're not using something like Windows ME. Man, back in the day, you couldn't go a week without the blue screen appearing with that OS, lol.

@Kermit1 Ah, so it was after Trap Team that the series nosedived. Too, I think some of it was because the toys to life concept became pretty saturated at that point with some forms of amiibo, LEGO Dimensions, etc.

As for your computer issue...Blue screens can be alarming but usually aren't an issue unless they're happening frequently or due to a specific string of actions. This can even happen to well maintained PCs. It's often due to a hardware or software failure. Next time it happens, take note of the error info. It usually doesn't tell you a lot if it's a generic error, but more specific errors can help with troubleshooting.

@MarioLover92 No prob, busy weekend for me too lol. I liked Brilliant Diamond, though once the rose-tinted glasses came off I do agree that the D/P remakes played things too safe. They were faithful, but too much so. All of the previous remakes baked in more excellent QoL improvements and content. The remakes are good, just not very worth it outside of nostalgia and a modern coat of paint...if one played the originals. I really liked Pokemon Snap! Despite the N64 graphics - which are by no means bad - the game has aged fairly well for the most part.

I didn't describe that encounter where most of my cards were stolen, by the way. A few cards remained, but they couldn't do any meaningful damage to the opponent since it was floating. Hence...I lost all of my cards. Needless to say I was steamed. There are experience points in the game, but past a certain point they have no meaning.

@Tyranexx I've had my computer crash before (black screen), it's just the blue screen jump scared me and made me worry for a second. Next time it happens I will try to write down the error code.

@Kermit1 Yeah. Now that I think about it, given how rarely they happen, blue screens can be a bit of a jump scare now, lol. When it happened on my PC, I jumped not expecting it.

It's also a good thing they don't happen much. Imagine playing a PC game, and the blue screen pops up mid-final boss battle. Not the final boss, the second final boss, that comes back more powerful.

@Sunsy but what if thats one of the boss phases... insta-kill by blue screen

@Kermit1 What if the final boss is the blue screen? O__O

@Sunsy This is what you'd use to fight it

@Anti-Matter It's a hoax, but a funny one lol

someone put dry ice inside (from what I understand) and (google dry ice) it creates the smoky fog coming out of the XBOX.

@Kermit1 At least modern day BSODs aren't as alarming; it's mostly just a sad face. XD A few months ago I was having issues with my work laptop throwing an UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE TRAP error, which is fairly generic. It turns out the firewall was occasionally butting heads with my file system/Windows Explorer in certain situations. I had to disable it and use a different one.

@Kermit1 Yep. They changed it to look a bit less scary for people not used to dealing with difficult computers on a daily basis. XD

I have a slightly newer profile pic this time, and I think it looks quite a bit better. I've been using the standard bike with Mario quite a lot, and I've been getting some good online races with this build. It's still on N64 Rainbow Road, and this time, you can see that flying train in the background.

@Tyranexx Ohhh, gotcha. Thanks for your thoughts on BDSP. It's too bad it seems like a step backwards from the other remakes, at least I still have Omega Ruby. I should play more of that sometime.

Nice, been wanting to revisit it sometime. I don't think I was too good at it when I was younger, but I still enjoyed it.

Ouch. I can't blame you for being steamed...I would have felt the same way. Kinda wish they let you at least do regular jump and hammer attacks throughout SS/CS, so you'd at least stand a chance. Origami King has that, at least. Plus the more powerful variants last a good while before breaking.

@Sunsy It was nice playing Super Mario Kart with you! Have a great one.

@MarioLover92 BDSP are by no means bad, but for the most part (disregarding the Grand Underground and Ramanas Park, the Pal Park replacement) they're the same as the originals. The Grand Underground is mostly an improvement, but they neutered secret bases in the change. So it's kind of one step forward, half a step back. Ramanas Park is good too, but only if you're gunning for legendaries and want to grind mysterious shards in the Grand Underground. I wish the main overworld incorporated the improvements from Platinum.

Honestly, I'm surprised they DIDN'T keep regular jump and hammer attacks. Mario & Luigi games kept them, as well as Super Mario RPG. I do have Origami King but haven't played it yet....Hopefully before too long! Reviews seemed to suggest it was an improvement over other more recent entries.

@Kermit1 I like jokes, whether or not they're decent. XD

This is my cue to repeat that The Origami King start slows, but it’s a great game and I liked it a lot.

I’m actually considering buying Sticker Star through the eshop as part of my doomsday wish list, have the complete set of Mario RPGs on the 3DS, I’m only missing that and Paper Jam.

Bloop.

I was thinking to consider Kirby Star Allies and Paper Mario Origami King for my next purchase as I haven't pick Kirby Star Allies since 4 years and Origami King since 2 years so I have to get them before they are extinct in the future.

Btw, how easy was Kirby Star Allies for peoples who have never played Kirby games?

I was browsing to see the comparison between Kirby Return to Dreamland Wii and Star Allies Switch and I saw some similarities between of them in term of 2D stages + Return to Dreamland was too expensive to get from Ebay so I think Star Allies was cheap enough to experience first Kirby game.

@Tyranexx Gotcha. I never played Platinum, but I did hear it was an improvement over Diamond and Pearl. I may get at some point, especially if I don't have my DS copy anymore, but I'm definitely more interested in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Yeah...I was pretty surprised to learn that while I was playing Sticker Star. Would've liked it more if they actually had regular attacks you could always use, and just have stickers be more powerful attacks. I definitely liked Origami King a lot more. It's not my favorite Paper Mario game, but it's a pretty good one nonetheless. Loved the visuals and music in that game, too.
