Well they just announced that Amy Adams will be Lois Lane in Superman Man of Steel. With Kevin Costner as Jonathon Kent, Diana Lane as Martha Kent and Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman all they need now is the villain. Rumors have pointed at Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn in LOTR) as Zod.
This moive is being written by David S Goyer and being directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch) I have high hopes for this movie after the great job Nolen did with the Batman franchise and its about time we got a good live action Superman Movie. Release date is for next summer I cant wait for this one.
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
Hopefully they have more varity in the villans. I think Lex Luthor was on every Superman movie but one.
@KaiserGX: If it is Zod, I'd be curious how he's done compared to before (I'd like to see how he and Kal El's are dressed. Not to mention Krytonians in general. Would be nice to see some of his other enemys.

You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
The only Superman movies we need are the Christopher Reeves films in my opinion.
Agreed. They were good movie too. I remember them that way anyhow.

Normal I was the same way when I heard about Nolen's Batman reboot. I thought that the Burton Batman movies were good enough but Nolen proved me wrong. If it was anyone but him doing the Superman reboot I would say the same but after what he did to Batman movie franchise I have faith that he will do the Superman just as good.

I'm glad Christopher Nolan isn't writing this new Superman movie because it'd be all gritty and quite austere. I can't stand Batman: The Dark Knight. The first C. Nolan Batman movie was better but Batman: The Dark Knight just wasn't the kind of movie that I could sit and watch with a good conscience as the film seemed overtly demonic with Heath Ledger's drug/insanity backed performance. The best new Superman films are Bryan Singer's Superman Returns, Superman: Doomsday and All Star Superman.

Thanks for the correcting. Sorry about the mis information.
@TokyoRed: I dont know I like Ledgers Joker it was very close to the comic book Joker that I have come to love. Personally I alwaysed loved the more dark and chaotic Joker than the goofy campy one.
I'm glad Luthor isn't in it. I never really thought he was a good villain. Superman could fly him off to some deserted island in the middle of the Pacific, paralyze him, or just kill him in a nanosecond, which makes his continued villainy more Superman's fault than anything else. Especially since jails don't appear to work on him at all.
I've never really liked Superman all that much since his only weakness is being a moron and bumbling into a trap where somebody has kryptonite. It doesn't make for much drama. Plus he's always seemed kind of cheesy to me for some reason.
Plus Superman IV has most likely completely destroyed all respect I had for him before (And after III, that wasn't a lot)
And the whole "Flying around the earth so fast it stops rotating and goes backwards which should actually be killing everybody and has nothing to do with time" and "Putting on glasses makes you a completely different person" things.
But since Nolan's involved, I'm hoping this can make me like him more.

I am sure that at some point Luthor will be in it after all you cant really have Superman without Luthor. They might be saving him for a sequel like they did with the Joker in the Nolan series but you can bet Luthor will be there somewhere. And I believe the idea behind Luthor is that hes the polar opposite of Superman. Where Superman has the speed and strength Luthor has the brains. At least thats how I have always seen it.

Superman can't kill Lex Luthor for some reason, they said they were going to show up why in the Smallville TV series, but I haven't seen any evidence as to why. Since Lex dies in Smallville and creates clones before he dies, and in the 10th season we see a Lex + Clark clone. Lex's DNA matched with Clark's... that's not good. Great evil fighting great good all the time. :/
But Superman's foundaries aren't all that rock steady anyways, it seems in every film or TV series they change it some what. Stick with one beginning please, I don't want a crap load of beginnings that all lead into different places...
And, although everyone wants to be Superman, its just getting more and more obsurd. Even in Smallville, you had clones, medicine that could bring someone back to life, and an idiotic hero (Clark Kent) rushing in and most of the time getting his ass kicked, losing his abilities or being... well a prat.
So even with all these faults, I'd like to see where they'll take this and where they'll ruin it.
