Don't know if it's been done before, just thought I'd make a thread for people to give their opinion on Square/Enix/Square-Enix - likes, dislikes, favorite games, etc. I'd throw in my own opinion, but I got homework to do, so I'll save that for later.
Square-Enix is one of my favorite RPG developers ever. Some of my favorites from them include FFIII, The World Ends with You (I know you hate that one ) and Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. I just downloaded Secret of Mana, so we'll see how that one plays out soon...
Overall, there is very little to fault Square-Enix with. Perhaps they do to much of the same things...but those things are usually good! Plus, they've done a lot to change the RPG genre game after game...
I'm working on a game that's coming out soon! Cipher Trailer
I'm not much on JPRGs, so that sours me a bit on them. I'd like to see them actually branch out a bit. The company does seem to do good work, after all.

They've actually branched out quite a bit over the years, although few of those games are worth mentioning. And generally, whenever they do branch out, they always try to add RPG elements to it.
They lost me after the PS1 era. Squaresoft was great and Enix was great. Combining the two turned out pretty bad save for the occasional bright spot and Dragon Quest. Now they are like EA Japan, gobbling up smaller devs/companies like candy. I would again buy Square-Enix's games (instead of just renting them) if they decided to stop pimping Final Fantasy (and that includes Kingdom Hearts) dry and develop sequels to their forgotten (sometimes better) series (a new Vagrant Story, Einhander, or Chrono game would be nice) or new IPs not having anything to do with Final Fantasy (we don't need more crappy spinoffs and sure they are developing Nier but it looks awful, really awful, almost Devil May Cry 2 awful). And I like Final Fantasy for the most part but realize the series has gone downhill in recent years and there are plenty of better JRPGs (and Western RPGs) to choose from now. ATLUS has since become #1 for me when it comes to JRPGs.
I personally really like square enix. I have many of their fantastic DS titles (TWEWY, Kingdom hearts, FFIV, and Chrono Trigger) and I enjoy al of them. Any good square enix wii titles I should know of? Or DS ones I dont have?

Dragon Quest (IV,V, Monsters:Joker, Heroes:Rocket Slime) Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift
I enjoy it when they go off and create or publish a new IP, and making it work so much better than it could've without them, like Chrono Trigger, TWEWY, Kingdom Hearts, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume, etc. TWEWY is one of my favorite games ever made.
Best thread ever

I have monsters joker and heros rocket slime and I absolutly LOVE both of them. I just forgot to mention them. I though dragon quest 4 was too generic and I got bored quickly. Ill check out the other 2 though.
Even if you weren't to interested in IV, V still may be worth looking into. It's better all around, and there's some monsters (around 60) that you can have join your team.
It used to be my favorite gaming company, until shortly after FFX-2. Most of the crap they release nowadays isn't worth playing at all. The Last Remnant for example, they seem to have gotten the idea that people like their J-RPG to be MMO inspired, I know for damn sure I don't and they were perfectly fine before.
Enix has tainted Squaresoft, it's beyond repair at this point, they keep releasing garbage with very few exceptions(TWETY for example).
And from what I hear, their long awaited FF13 continues down the same path.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
