if you want a good job I'd recommend studying, study as your life depends on it(and it does) get to be a pro with the knowledge and abilities you need and don't need for a great job!!! hard work is always rewarded somehow!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Because I think that if you can, there's nothing wrong with taking up your own responsibility and earning money, which you know, is necessary in society. Plus you might learn a thing or two in a work environment and get a good work ethic to apply to the future. I guess other have explained that better than me, but just my two cents I guess.
Considering you're not really doing anything right now, yeah, you should get a job. If nothing else, it will act as a precursor to what's likely going to be ahead. Most people don't work a job they truly love when they start out; they work because they want to get paid or get higher in that career field. Plus, getting a job will help teach you the value of money. Knowing that you worked an hour for those 9 bucks changes your perspective.
You'll also grow to dislike taxes a lot more.

@Retrowire, I can see how that would really agitate you...
You're the kind of person who should have a job - to support your family etc. Then you have the OP who thinks "I'll chill out for a bit, then I will eventually get a job, but meh".
Oh, and OP - I've been in your position (gaming all day post-high school) - and trust me, it catches up with you. I would strongly suggest you apply for everything you can (within reason). Once you're in an organisation, that's the foundations set...
And it's extremely satisfying playing a game or console that you paid for.
I just read all of posts. I'm going to apply to as many jobs as possible. I don't want to be 40+ age living with my mom. I didn't think my lazy habits could catch up with me as I grow up. Life is not easy, i'm going to try to get a job.
I'm going to apply to as many jobs as possible - So you're just going to throw your name forward every so often? in amongst the 1000s of other aplicants?
I don't want to be 40+ age living with my mom - Keep applying for jobs
I didn't my lazy habits could catch up with me as I grow up. - Yes they definitely will, and once you get to the 18+ group, it'll hit home; hard.
Life is not easy, getting a job could be a key lesson not just for me but for other people in my lazy teenage position. - *Life might not be easy, but getting a job is also difficult.[/strong]
Don't bother getting a job. If you think hard enough, money will suddenly appear all around you, and people who annoy you will instantly explode where they stand (or sit), raining their blood, bits of bones, and clumps of organs down on their family.

Why? Why say these things?
I mean it seems like there is enough truth serum to go around.
Sounds to me like the OP has made up his mind; now to go and do.
You should get a job it's good for you. 1) You get to buy whatever you want when you want it 2) It keeps your mind occupied 3) You get used to always having money in your pocket, especially for those moments when friends are randomly like "hey let's go eat at this restaurant" or "hey, why don't we go to the movies?" and you don't have to say sorry guys I can't because I don't have money or my parents won't give me any.

Maybe because it's the cold, hard truth.
The OP needs to realise that a job will not just appear for him.
Amen to that, you have to get your *** out there and apply for A LOT of jobs which are most likely gonna be really ******. Odds are out of all those jobs you apply for you'll get like 1 or 2 calls and it'll be mostly when those **** faces feel like calling you. Then if they call you some will want an interview so you're going to have to meet with those ******* and put on the biggest most fake smile you'll ever have and pretend like you're going to work at your dream job being a hamburger installation manager or whatever kind of ******* smart *** sounding name they want to call their burger flippers.

Not sure if you're being serious or not but, conveniently, everything you've said is the truth.
Oh, btw, when I posted this:

I misread it as "not going to apply"; so, sorry OP.

Cracked up at "hamburger installation manager", so true and hilarious.
