So I got a call today for a job opening that I applied for almost three months ago. I'll be talking to them about tomorrow at the "interview" (from what they said, it seems like they're going to offer me the job if I want it). Keeping my fingers crossed, I'm hoping they're going to give me a lot of hours, and starting rate is $8.55, much better than the $7.60 at my current job. Not to mention that my current boss cut my hours and doesn't appreciate my work, BUT let's not burn bridges yet!

I got an e-mail a couple of days go telling me I've been awarded £3000 in a Scholarship Programme which will be used to reduce my tuition fee for University. They've told the people who sort out my student loans about it so I don't have to do anything; pretty cool.
...And it happened again today for this year! So that's another £3000 off the total Tuition Fee loan for University. Awesome! Let's see if I get 3 out of 3 for the final (?) year! ^^
In all seriousness, this really helps considering my money problems...

Well, turns out I was wrong. I had a full blown interview today. But seriously, how else was I supposed to interpret "We have an opening for this position if you're interested." Oh well, at least I was prepared for it. They want me to come in for a second interview on Friday.

Well, yeah; "we have a position if you're interested" usually means that they're employing if you want to try for it.
The fact that they got back in contact after the first interview is always a good sign, let alone for another interview.
Most of the time they won't even have the decency to say 'were not interested'.

Oh, don't worry. I won't forget the time where I interviewed for a job, absolutely nailed it, the interviewer was talking about how I would move on to other positions when I had the job, etc. I essentially had the job. Then the interview ended and that was it. Nothing. Called the day after to thank them, didn't take my call. Actually went back to the place to talk to them personally, and an associate said they would call me. Nothing. I've never felt so snubbed.
But then again, it was fast food, and, at the risk of sounding sexist, if you're not a girl, you can't work at a fast food restaurant. At least in my town.
EDIT: I can understand that I may sound egotistical, but I'm not trying to convey that at all. It's just difficult to tell a story like that on the internet.

Oh yeah I have been there. Or the one I really hate is when they send you the form letter. "Thank you for taking the time blah blah blah but at this time we can't offer you employment. Good Luck with your job search".

@Tasuki - Oh yeah, I've been there.
Although, sometimes it's not so bad, I once applied (by letter) to a couple of lawyers firms, and within a couple of days they had sent a letter all hand written saying they apologise, they don't actually have any placements and thy wish you the best with your job search. And they were both signed by the head him/herself.
@Veloster: Yeah those ones I don't mind cause they are actually taking the time to inform you that they aren't going to hire you. The form ones that I speak of just feel like a slap in the face cause they really dont mean it they just do it as a PR kinda thing. I don't know it's hard to explain.

So today (as usual) my family and I went to Church. We sat down (as usual) and waited for the service to start (as usual.)
What wasn't usual, was the new guy sitting several seats away from me. He wore a black & gold suit which immediately caught my eye. So, since I always approach people I'm attracted to (because I'm gutsy and you should totally look up to me for my guts,) I went up and complimented his suit. He asked for my name and I told him my name, I asked for his and he said his. We exchanged auras, we looked into each others' eyes, all that good stuff. Then I left and the service started shortly afterward.
At the near-end of the Church service (which is where you can come forward if God's working in your heart and all that,) apparently that very same guy who I talked with earlier came forward and joined the Church. I say "apparently," because I was too busy being a terrible singer to notice.
I'll assume, because he was apparently too shy to say this to me personally, that he did that because of me and what I did. Rest assured, NLifers, that I will personally say "You're welcome" to him, the next time we meet.
Just "discover" Rhapsody of Fire. Not sure how I went so long without hearing their music, especially since I listen to Dragonforce, Hammerfall, and other such music with fantasy themes, but it's pretty great stuff.

Got any songs from them you recommend? I've only listened to a 5 or 6 so far, but I haven't run into a bad or even mediocre song yet.

BEST. DAY. EVER!!!!!!!!
Y'know, right next to having my first "meaningful" crush, making my public profession of faith at church, getting baptized, having @Gioku help me get over my Gynephobi-Okay, this may not be THE BEST day ever, but it's definitely up there!

Nothing good has happened to me lately but... I hope/play for a future of good things later. I guess this post doesn't really count but... just trying to hang in there until that time.
I have a positive feeling about the near future.
just a hunch, as everything can go wrong and I won't be expecting the good things to come to me so I won't just relax.

Games from Amazon arrived along with my blu-ray copy of the Wizard of Oz. I can't stop singing "Breakfast at Tiffany's" by Deep Blue Something (which is fine since it's one of my favourite songs) and I realized that it's pay day tomorrow!

You're positive about your future. So that's a positive, right?
