Then there's Dark Souls

Dark Souls isn't published by Namco Bandai. Atari published it.

Got those mixed up. Bandai published it rather than Namco Bandai. Just like how Namco only published Tales of Graces f rather than Namco Bandai.

It's called Branding. It's the same company, just different logos. Nothing more.

That's the word I was looking for. Still can't believe I mixed up Atari with Bandai. lol?

Just for you.

It's also worth noting, I think, that Namco Bandai has done a good job tapping into the otaku market in Japan with that Idol Master series. Never going to make its way out west, but that series seems to be pretty popular over there.

When people talk about hardcore fans, in Japan they mean that group. You get in with them and you're printing money.

What does that have to do with this?

It's a site that has comic revivals of old Bamco games.

Also, a teaser for the next mothership (main series) Tales of game. I personally think this is a bit too soon as Xillia hasn't even been out for a year yet and Graces F isn't out in Europe yet. Anyway, the town in the concept art looks more futuristic than anything we've seen in the Tales of series. Could the Tales of series be going the Final fantasy route and getting more sci-fi like with newer entries. There has also been speculation that its a sequel to Tales of Xillia due like the X in the text saying Next Tales of looking like the X in ToX's logo. Even though most sequels are escort titles (spin-off) like the two Tales of Phantasia sequels and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new world, Tales of Destiny 2 was a mothership title so it is a possibility but it would still be surprising to have a sequel to ToX so soon but the appearance of that X could just be a coincedence.

Hideo Baba has confirmed that the Tales of game that will be revealed soon is not ToX2 but a completely new mothership title and he said that while past Tales of games have been high fantasy and magic, this one will introduce a modernized, inorganic civilization much like our own. Also, he described the theme of the game as "Are you determined to destroy the world for the sake of one girl?".

I swear I heard that line ages ago. Granted, the new game was reported to be in development a week after Xillia was released, so I'm sure there was plenty of time for that news to come to me.

Judging from their recent form on 3DS (Pac-Man Party 3D, Tekken 3D Prime Edition,One Piece Unlimited Cruise SP) I'm suprised anyone created this thread, let alone comment on it.

Although I would LOVE another Soul Calbur game on an Nintendo console. It'll never happen, but I can dream, can't I?

You seem to have forgotten Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, and Tales of the Abyss. Both on 3DS, both very fun. Also, PAC-MAN & Galaga Dimensions would be worth a purchase for the fact that it has the original PAC-MAN, PAC-MAN C.E., original Galaga and Galaga Legions all in one package (especially if you haven't played the two newer games). Sure, it has those cruddy new games (made for the 3DS) on it, but for what it's going for now, I'm sure those can be forgiven because of the good stuff.

Since Nintendo is allowing retail games to come to the eShop, I think Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions would be a perfect eShop game.

Agreed. And as for everyone who thinks I hate everything about Namco Bandai, I like Tales of the Abyss. The reason I made that comment is because I don't everything else about Namco Bandai. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.

The 14th mothership title is...Tales of Xillia 2 for PS3 which will be released in Japan this year and takes place a year after the events of its predecessor. I'm surprised that they're releasing a sequel to ToX the year after it came out. I was hoping it would be for 3DS but its not surprising. Also, this doesn't mean Hideo Baba was lying earlier, he probably just meant it wans't a spin-off sequel like ToS: Dawn of the new world and the Tales of Phantasia sequels and that it would be a mothership title like Tales of Destiny 2. Here is the first footage of it:

You can find more details about ToX2 including details about the protagonist, the main heroine of the game, the battle sytem and more here.
Ludger looks like a pretty cool protagonist and Elle must be one of the youngest main characters in any JRPG, being only 8 years old. I like the idea of a choice mechanic and the weapon shift system in the battle system looks good too.

LIARS! THEY SAID IT WOULDN'T BE TALES OF XILLIA 2!!!! Damn am I disappointed...

That's what I thought when I first heard the information and I was disappointed too. I just checked what was said about it not being Xillia 2 and this is what was said:
"There has been a lot of speculation about this game being "Tales of Xillia 2" or something like that. Mr. Baba, however, assures in the interview that this is a completely new mothership game set in a new world we will venture in, and is not a sequel of some sort."

Technically, that is true as its not a direct sequel like ToS: DotNW and the world it takes place in isn't where most of Xillia takes place in but I think he should have said something else that wouldn't contradict the reveal as it is still called Tales of Xillia 2.

Yeah, I loved Tales of the Abyss as well.

Does anyone know if the PSOne game, Tales of Phantasia, is on PSN, and if so, how much is it?

I liked Tales of Vesparia a lot, and Xillia is looking great. I look forward to Q1.

Best thread ever

@RR529 No, its not. It was Japan-only so that's probably why.
@MattEriks I loved TotA too. Its easily the best game on 3DS and for a long time it was tied with Tales of Symphonia as my favourite game ever but I finally decided that I like Symphonia more (Abyss is a very close second though) so I'd definitely recommend that. Its for the Gamecube so it can be played on the Wii. It is pretty rare but you should be able to find it for a good price somewhere on the internet. It doesn't have free run though (Abyss was the Tales of game that introduced that) so that may take some getting used to.

A lot of people dont seem to get into the Ace Combat games but I have always enjoyed them alot. I own several of them and seem to always eventually buy a new one when it releases.

I enjoyed both Ace Combat 4 & 5 on PS2, and I also loved Ace Combat: AHL on 3DS.

I was thinking about picking up Assault Horizon (console) when it released, but I heard that a lot of changes were made to make it more appealing to the COD crowd, and those changes didn't sit well with the fans (kind of like the Resi Evil 5 scenario, where the game was good, but doesn't feel like it belongs in the series).

I always hold off on buying them till they hit the $20-30 price range. Last one I bought new at full retail price was Ace Combat 3. I've always been a fan of the fighter jet games running back to Top Gun on NES so there shouldnt be too much disappointment for me. I do miss the days of having both Air Force Delta Storm and Ace Combat games to choose from though.
