Topic: I wish I had a video game based career

I wish I had a video game tester's job, or something like that. I think I have pretty good taste in games. You can read my posted replies around the NintendoLife website. Tell me if you think I'm coming correct. I would love to have my desires and input for video games come into reality. I mean if it isn't me making the decisions, it will be some other guy. I figure if I have to try as hard as I do to get a job in this economy, I might as well have a job I love. All replies will be taken with an open mind. Thank you

Am I being hated upon? Or should I keep trying to bring attention to this thread?

Well WiiAboutU. Firstly, what? Your original post doesn't make that much sense. People aren't going to reply when they don't know what to say. Also, it's been an hour and a bit. Most of the people who are active on this site are asleep, or busy. Your not going to get a reply straight away.

To answer what I think your asking. A game tester is a horrible job. Low pay, and your rarely playing games to enjoy them. As your usually only playing one level, over and over and over and over again, looking for any bugs. Even the most boring games need testing, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to play those games, would you?

I was politely asking, if anyone related to my views on video games. And if they related enough to trust someone like me, with the future of a video game they may possibly play in the future. I can see why a game tester's job would suck, that's why I said " or something like that". Does anyone have any ideas as to which career path, I would want to pursue?

I had 60 views before your post, so too many viewers can't be sleeping or too busy. That is equal to 1 person reading this thread every minute.

Writing Game Reviews for a magazine sounds like it would be more up your alley. It still wouldn't be all fun and games but it might be less tedious than a game tester, I'm not sure if you can build a career around this alone though. Perhaps becoming involved in a game magazine would be a good game based career goal.

What? Surely the state of the economy means you have to be less particular about what job you go for, not more so.

Thank you for your honest opinion. I am intrigued with words and I guess reviews do somehow predict the outcome of video games. So thank you Usagi-san.

Are you interested at all in game development? My advice would be to start creating games yourself.

There are a few people on these forums who know what they're doing (some are even professional), and they'll be able to give you the advice you need.

Hugh Hefner? That's a pretty dramatic comparison, don't you think. But I mean someone's mother woudn't say so. lol
