This image couldn't do a better job of honoring the 25th anniversary!

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
By playing through the 1st and 2nd quest of The Legend of Zelda. Already went through the 1st quest on my 3DS version. Now I'm going through them both on my still-golden NES game pak (TM). I've not played through the 2nd quest in over 23 years when I played through it right after the 1st quest (after spending a fortune on the Nintendo helpline ).
I still remember getting my bleep kicked after starting the 2nd quest. I'd just beaten Ganon one night (after I built enough bravery to face him) and was pretty full of myself. Not for long, though. Not when I found common enemies I had been one-hit killing with the Master Sword now shooting sword projectiles at me! Knocked me off my high pony!
btw, was anyone else who played it back "in the day" afraid of facing Ganon (or Gannon as he was then) after seeing how monsterous his shadow looked in the instruction book? My Grandfather had to give me a pep talk before I'd go in to face him, swear to God! Here's what I'm talking about... Ganon looks like he's about a gazillion times bigger than Link there, so I feel justified in my then-fear!
@TokyoRed Zelda just looks like one awesome, butt-kicking chick there (and hot too blush)!
@FluttershyGuy, I know right? It makes me wanna find a portal under my bed so I can enter Hyrule and get to know that fair lady of a Princess! I like those images from the handbook man. It's to bad they don't make handbooks like they use to for games.
Here is Link and Zelda from the Scott Pilgrim side of space and time!
Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? Isaiah 42:19

The lack of story, artwork and any personality whatsoever in today's instruction books is sad. Back then, they were an important prelude to your adventure. The instruction book for The Legend of Zelda had my imagination going wild (when I HAD an imagination) before I even turned the game on! The instruction book was like a trusty companion in your quest.
Now, it's an instruction book. It gives instructions on how to play (yawn). Guess it's a cost saving measure or something. Like businesses laying off huge fractions of work force, having barebones staff and working ones they have to death. Closest thing I can compare it to right now.
I'm gonna Celebrate The Legend of Zelda' 25th Anniversary by playing Call of Duity. U Mad?
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
Lets see, I've played through Ocarina of Time, Zelda I, Zelda II and Phantom Hourglass in the last few months, and I think that will have to do until Skyward Sword comes out.
I'm gonna buy the Nintendo Selects version of Twilight Princess and hopefully beat it by the end of the year and/or by the time I get Skyward Sword.
I'm also gonna give the original The Legend of Zelda a try when I get it on my 3DS, and I'm praying for Minish Cap to be an Ambassador game.
Still this (although I think I'm gonna wait for the restore point function before I try the Ambassador Zeldas). But I also just got Wind Waker. I have tested it a little, and it's so beautiful! I think I'm going to start playing that one for real in the next few days.
On Saturday, I finished The Legend of Zelda second quest for the first time in over 23 years. I'd forgotten all about the red and blue ghosts, where if you touch a red one, you can't use your sword until you touch a blue one. Makes things difficult when there's tough enemies like Wizzrobes in the same room.
