Mark, dude, there are plenty of unique games out there, you just gotta look for them. Child of Eden, PixelJunk Shooter, Solatorobo, just to name some recent ones. I suggest you stop watching commercials and start doing some digging.

I'm not saying all games are bad these days or anything like that Mickeymac. I rarely watch tv as I'm always on the move. Never played those games but would like to know more about them. I"ll give them a try. Not trying to start anything man. Just saying. Are we Coo!?!
Doesn't matter, nothing is ever original now. The thing now is to get a game out that does something the others aren't CURRENTLY doing. Then when that becomes current you switch it back.
I had to, sadly. Ocarina of Time asked me if i wanted to quit after i saved. And due to my annoying human need for sleep i had to decide for that option. Most parts of me die every day i have to make such a decision. It's such a misconstructed lifestyle for which i feel miserable as hell...

Well, it kind of is an addiction, for some people.
in order for me to 'quit' them, though, i'd have to be addicted first. other people may be addicted, but not me :3 nope, no denial here :3
That sums up what i think quite well. I like to think that i choose when to game myself. I'm not telling myself "when i come home i have to play a game." So you could say i'm not seeing myself as a gamer even. Just someone that plays a game when he wants to play it. I may be in denial here, but i don't care.
I may not game as much as my life goes on and more things come by to occupy my time (even though I already have a job and a girl ) but I'll still keep gaming as one of my favorite hobbies
Why do astronauts backtrack? They forgot the Space Jump Boots.
I did stop playing games for about a year once, roughly halfway through the Wii's life-cycle. There didn't seem to be anything that interested me on it, or the DS. I thought my gaming days were numbered, but fortunately I think that's when Mario Galaxy came along and I woke up early every morning before I went off to school just to get one more galaxy under my belt. After that I stumbled across Nintendo Life, and this isn't a soppy "suck-up" story, but I genuinely started to become more interested than ever before, even branching out into other platforms. As for the future, personally I've got no idea what's going to happen down that road, so I can't tell whether gaming will either drive me to Eden, or dump me on the pavement (philosophical, no?).
I love how people get upset that people make fun of them for liking Mario and those same people turn around and bash people for liking COD. The I don't like it so it sucks approach.
I'm 28. Been gaming since I was about 4 or 5 and its still my main hobby. lol not much else interests me to be quite honest. I honestly believe this will be my main form of entertainment when I'm old and in the retirement home. Even with modern game consoles and handhelds I can always find games that keep me interested. I will probably never stop
the topic here is regarding whether or not you've ever thought of 'quitting' video games, not name-calling and arguing over FPS titles. drop the argument, please.

I'm in the proess of not really gaming much anymore. I haven't had the desire to play through anything. I've only been playing quick arcade style games, where it's not taking too much time.
