What's wrong with being addicted to videogames? Has anyone ever gone to jail for videogame addiction?
It's not the same as a drug addiction.
As long as it doesn't interfere with your work or family life there's no reason to stop.

Too Old for a Fun game?

Nah. But I do get flack from my friends for being "the Mario guy" and it gets old. It's almost like they can't take a 29 year old man who loves Nintendo as much as I do seriously and it can be frustrating. But I mean, it's just a thought. The question is "Have you thought of quitting video games?" and I have. But I won't. lol. I've been playing since 1988 or so so it would kinda be hard to change what I like to do with my free time now...

I turn 29 in 3 days and love me some Mario and always will you are not alone. I know people want to label gamers "casual" or "hardcore" or whatever I just consider my self a gamer. I love me some Call of Duty and I love me some Mario and alot of stuff in between. I play the games that interest me and don't really care what anyone else thinks...

What the bandana-man said, give or take a few years.

But i don't think i really understand the concept of the question. Do people "quit" watching movies, or "quit" reading books, or "quit" listening to music? Gaming is just a pastime/hobby like any other. Weird.

Oh, don't worry about it man! They're your friends! They're probably just messing around with you. If they're actually trying to insult you though you probably need some new less ignorant friends.(I'm sure they're not though.)

Nope can't say that I have. The only thing that could make me quite video games is Nintendo going out of business. A video game industry without Nintendo is not an industry worth supporting to me.

You know you can give up hobbies, right? I gave up books a long time ago, and I also gave up television. I even gave up music for a while. So yes, people do give up those kinds of things, and they can give up games if they want to. People used to do it all the time before gaming became more mature. It still happens, of course, just less frequently.

I'm 32 and at my age I get alot of flack for still playing videogames. I went into walmart to buy Mario Galaxy back when it came out and got laughed at. The clerk gave me this look like I was a retard for wanting to buy a Mario game.
He was younger than me and probably a Call of Duty nut. That's all kids want to play these days.
Nothing but games with guns and violence. If that's what makes you feel like a man.... Whatever.

I did once.

Worst 15 minutes of my life!

(Stupid jokes aside, no. No I will not. Even if I lost all my limbs I'd just map the game controls to a series of eye and tounge movements.)

You just got to ignore it, if anything i feel BAD for these uninformed twats who clearly missed out the golden age of gaming and don't know how bad they even have it in comparison to what we had.....If only i were born in the late 70's or 80' instead of 84, then i would of gotten my Nes on launch day in 85' but i ended up getting one in 89' when i was 5. oh well, better late than never! Plus I dabbled in some Coleco Vision and Commodre 64 during that time so yay me.lol Anybody else ever play GIJOE on the Commodre?

Exactly! I can't imagine having to be a kid in this age. Everything is way too serious or inappropriate. I hate the fact 9 year old kids are watching stuff like Jersey Shore or Adult Swim and mostly playing FPS and rated M games. Seriously, I played online COD a few times and the majority of people I met were 9 and 13 year olds and my little 11 year old brother would play the game with all his classmates online.(I honestly don't see how he has fun. All I ever hear him yell is "YOU STOLE MY KILL!" or "STOP IT!!". ) I tried to stop him by letting our Mom know, but she didn't care. I'd say something(I did actually), but he never listens to me. I remember when even the commercials were awesome back in the 80's/90's! Everything on TV now-a-days seems soulless. Playing the SNES with all those great games back then was so much fun. I unfortunately never got to experience the NES, but I'm going to buy one on ebay eventually and some games. I love the good old days. Things aren't as bad as they sound now, but they just don't match the golden age of TV/video games.

This. My 16 year old brother does this every day with Uncharted 2.

On another note, I've actually enjoyed being a kid this decade quite a lot. I love so many games from this gen and the last gen, plus I've gotten to experience retro games within the past couple of years. Not too bad.

ArmoredGoomba

Nope. Though I've considered just playing mario, zelda games metroid.

bro2dragons

Nope. Not for a minute. Why would something like that be worth considering? As long as you're playing in moderation, there's no reason to just quit something you love.

I hate being 17.... I seriously think that this is the cut off age between COD Fanbois and real gamers (one who will play good games and not just M games).... at school I get bashed by my class mates for liking Mario and Pokemon.... I hate it, but I see people who are 2 years older who say Mario is awesome

Honestly, I think people who make fun of others for any reason are just insecure, really there's no need to pay any of them any mind.

Sometimes I've thought about it. These days, I can sure use the extra money towards something else but choose not to. Gaming has been in my life since I was small. I enjoy playing games but I don't let it come between my social life. All the nights playing games with friends and family were so fun back in the days. Those crazy commercials always made me laugh but also made me want to buy those games. Sometimes, I wish I could just go back in time and relive those memories. Nowadays, it just doesn't feel the same. I feel that some game developers have forgotten about how gameplay is the key to a great game and not how great the graphics looks.Every once in a while, there is a game that comes out that does just that. I want to play something new, unique, and fresh. There's just too many of the same games that look the same just with a different name. Not a fan of those crazy shooting games like Halo or Call of Duty, just give me some good platform games like mario and i'll be fine.
