I have a question for people in England. I got a streetpass from England awhile ago, and the map is of the United Kingdom with England highlighted. I just recently got one from France (only my second non-America streetpass) and I think I assumed the map would be of continental Europe with France highlighted, but it was France with just one region highlighted. So I was wondering, does England not have states/regions/provinces or whatever you would call them? Do you just consider yourself (and Wales, Scotland, and N. Ireland) to be "states" of the United Kingdom, or are you upset at the way the streetpass map simply portrays your country as that way? Or is the map different on an English 3DS? And slightly off topic, what are those islands or whatever in the inset on the UK map?
If I'm not mistaken, England, Wales, ect. are considered provincial territories within the U.K. (I'm in the U.S., I don't fully understand it myself, so I could be wrong).
Also, I'm assuming the islands are the Falkland Islands (could be very, very wrong, as this is just a random guess. Probably misspelled it as well, lol.)

England does have separate subdivisions known as Regions, which are then divided into further divisions known as Counties. They just don't show up on the streetpass map. They're called different things in the other parts of Britain, but they are basically the same thing. And the islands in the inset are known as the Shetland Islands, which are considered part of Scotland. Here's some links if you are curious
I have wondered about the same thing. My country (Holland) is devided into many Streetpass regions that match our "provinces". I also got one hit from a UK resident and the UK is devided into just four Streetpass regions. I wonder why? Surely they could have used the counties as regions.

Those are literally on the opposite side of the globe to London. They're off the coast of South America.
Post an image of the islands you're talking about and I'll tell you what they are (assuming a European native doesn't beat me to the punch)
in england we have counties there like states but not as powerfull i dont know how many there are but i live in the county of Lancashire, another one i know is yorkshire a very large county ( and yes new york is named after yorkshire) the reason why the 3DS streetpass map does not show counties is unknown
OK cool. And yes, I know I can look up online what the counties are. I was mostly wondering how people in England felt about England being relegated to a region of the UK instead of having its own map separated into counties like Lancashire and such. As for the islands, they're in the top-right corner, but as it's an inset they could be located anywhere, so that probably doesn't really help.
I'm willing to bet that even if England was divided into regions, I'd still only get people from Norfolk on my streetpass map.
183 streetpass hits (105 unique people) and all but 2 of those were from England. I've streetpassed ONE exotic foreigner, and he was Scottish.
I realised how multicultural Sydney really is thanks to Streetpass. 300 or so unique people, and only about 200 "Australians." About 20 Americans, a handful of Kiwis, one or two from Singapore and a bunch from Japan.
Including Goichi Suda. Or Suda 51 for the cool people.
