@markmarkmark That'll never happen in a million years. Nintendo is like the Disney of gaming. They want total control of their IPs and they know if their games make it to another platform like PC then they're done. It's one of the main reasons why they have such high hardware sales. Their exclusive IPs literally sell their systems. If Pokemon went to PC their hardware sales would slow and it would show.

@BinaryMessiah Disney makes billions on PC/mobile though. With Pokemon they have millions of users on their mobile games, millions more on there TCG Online game authentically. Pokemon is successful on any platform. A lot of people play old Pokemon games on PC/phone unlicensed. New generation of gamers won't pull out or buy a GB, 64, NGC, DS to play those anymore. I'm sure Nintendo is thinking about it. I'm not saying they will give their IPs to sell on STEAM but them opening their own online store on PC. Their game sales on mobile phones are an incredible example of making billions without their own hardware but trusting their own IPs. Not worrying/spending money on hardware and its updates can allocate more focus on developing more games or buying studios.

Gordon Ramsay has a Nintendo Switch.

@markmarkmark That would b a good start. Similar to dipping their feet into mobile phones.

what do you mean? that nintendo would "make" their own mobile phones? or just make licensed games for phones? (which they already do?)

@BinaryMessiah yeah well, locked in games or exclusives are one of the reasons specific consoles sell. 💸 just like how the last of us is still not a PC game until now. 😅 (just checked... it IS becoming a PC game lol finally)
took them long enough. 😄

Yeah, Nintendo has a long history of exclusivity though compared to Sony and Microsoft (Playstation and XBox exclusives being ported to PC one by one; the console exclusive empire gradually crumbles outside of Nintendo's titanium walls). I don't think Super Mario Bros. can be found on Steam, for example. It helps Nintendo sell their consoles, so there's no real reason for them to tap into the PC market IMO.

Animal Crossing, one of the biggest Nintendo sellers, is still a Nintendo exclusive. No Pokémon games have ever existed on PC, period. They even made the big move of buying out Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 as a Switch exclusive. Freaking Marvel. lol

So yeah, I just don't see Nintendo as someone willing to share, at least not from their past couple years of activity.

What would be the reason for doing this?

yeah, from my memory considering the Japanese industry pretty lax when it comes to fan art and fan creations, Nintendo is one of the stricter ones out there... 🤔

Reminds me of the flappy bird fiasco a few years back and the green Mario pipe infringement issue. 😁

Game on. 🤘 Rock on. 🎸
